Staff very friendly and hepfull !
Used several travelodges up and down the country but quite dissapointed with this 1 .

Room was bog standard to be expected but this was very cold , even with the heater up full.
Toilet was dated with stained tiles and bath ,, no extractor fan in the toilet area either !

Bed comfortable but 2 very thin pillows inadequate !

Location probably the best thing about this hotel being right on the a1 within walking distance of Morrisons supermarket and 24hr mcDonalds .
Taxi into berwick centre only £4

Paid £65 for 2 night stay in january so all in all would probably rate it about 3/5 average

Would definately use Travelodge again but just maybe not this one

The family room was adequate with plenty of room for bags etc, the bathroom was clean although the towels were a bit thin. Overall a good night, although we were woken by the mopeds driving to and from McDonalds which is opposite the hotel.

For £40 is was good value :)

In line with other reviews this is travelodge corporate standard everything- but this hotel gets a "very good" because it was clean and comfortable, the receptionist friendly, and the value for money (on the Travelodge sale rate) amazing.
The hotel is across a car park from a McDonalds, 250 yards from a Morrisons supermarket with cafe - both are options for breakfast from 8 am weekdays and saturdays (so no need to buy the travelodge breakfast bag) and about 450 yards from the Meadow House pub (just off the other side of the Berwick North A1 junction roundabout- and at the time of writing, top ranked restaurant in Berwick) for a really good evening meal.

Upon arrival my wife and I were greeted in a friendly manner by a very helpful receptionist. The room was plain but warm and spacious; there was a double bed, large desk and sofa bed along with a tub chair. The room came with free television around a dozen channels plus the option of pay TV, there was also coffee and tea making facilities. The bathroom consisted of a bath with over head shower, toilet and basin.

Having spent two nights here I can now say with confidence that the bed was extremely uncomfortable with not enough pillows to rest your head. The walls could do with a retouch and when the cleaner comes around someone should say that it’s not ok to leave the kettle half-full of water. The bathroom was showing serious signs of wear and tear; there was mould around the tiles of the bath the flooring was coming away from the walls along with the bath and the light fixing was hanging down possibly from the express train tat had checked into the room above.

Berwick upon Tweed is a beautiful place to visit and at £19 a night booked in advance even with its faults the Travelodge showed value for money compared to some of the local guest houses and hotels
