“Excellent stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

This is an excellent B&B with a good food selection for breakfast.
We stayed in the front double room which has the normal facilities one associates with a good B&B, including fresh milk in a small refrigerator. It includes a Freeview flat screen TV (for if the weather is not quite so good) and an interesting selection of books in the room.
We were made to feel very much at home and will certainly be going back.
Its location is excellent being just off the A1 and close to such places as Bamburgh, Holy Island, Alnwick, etc.
Belford now has an excellent Farm shop and Cafe, although after breakfast you would be hard pushed (by lunch time) to eat more than a cake and coffee. Although Belford is small, it has an excellent wooden toy shop and a gallery selling many interesting local arts and crafts, including interesting information on local history.
All in all we have had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

“fantastic place to spend time and relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2009

Excellent place to spend nights away from home as from the moment you get there you feel at home. Annette and Keith really made us feel welcome even though we got delayed in traffic and didn't arrive until about 10pm on a Friday night!
The room and vicarage were very well kept - and no noise from the church bells disturbed us at all even though we stayed in the double room at the front of the house; a real bonus!
We had a wonderful afternoon sitting at their garden table drinking wine and relaxing the day away at this traditional old vicarage that is quintissential old England.
Breakfast was excellent with Annette showing the same attention to detail that she clearly shows everywhere else.
If only all other B&Bs (and many hotels!) could match this standard more people would stay away from home more often!!!
I've recommended this B&B to friends and some have booked already.
Great place to base yourself to see Holy Island / Bamburgh etc each being only a short drive from this place.

“' olde worlde charm' with luxury, comfort and value at the old vicarage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2009

This is a small but fabulous B and B, extremely well placed for you to reach the many places of interest in Northumberland. It is run by a lovely lady who is chatty yet not intrusive. She gave us great tips about where to eat and how to get to places, and was well informed about local attractions.
The whole house was clean, attractive and tastefully decorated; in keeping with such an old house (17thC).
The breakfast was plentiful, of a high quality and cooked to perfection.
I would definitely stay there again especially as it is such good value too and will be recomending it to others without reserve.

“Happy Week at The Old Vic”

We had a wonderful week staying at The Old Vicarage, Belford, Northumberland. We had a beautiful double room (with en suite) overlooking the churchyard. The room was cleaned every day, beds made or tidied, towels changed every other day and bedding changed after a half week. The owners were very friendly and cooked terrific breakfasts. We had a check list breakfast menu to be left by the front door before 9pm the night before, included fruit juice (orange, grapefruit, or apple) / cereal / grapefruit / prunes / muesli / bacon / sausage / mushrooms / baked beans / tomatoes / egg (fried, scrambled, poached or boiled) / kedgeree / smoked salmon with scrambled egg / tea / coffee. There is also a guest lounge. Fresh milk was available each day in a small fridge in the bedroom, with tea and coffee making facillities and a jar of chocolaye chip cookies! There was a TV in the bedroom as well as one in the lounge. Ideal situation for coast, Cheviots, and A1.

  • Liked — comfort, friendliness, good food
