We found this B and B via the VisitAlnwick website where it shows accomodation with gradings. This guest house has won a silver award and I can quite see why. The owner Liz was welcoming without being pushy, always happy to give advice and leaflets on places to visit. The house was beautiful..(a Georgian townhouse I think) with clean welcoming rooms and just five minutes walk from the town centre. The breakfasts were lovely, using fresh local produce with a very good selection for vegetarians. The church clock opposite did strike every quarter hour including during the night but I think were so worn out with sightseeing every day that we didn't hear it at all but be warned if you are a light sleeper. The town is lovely with good restaurants and Alnwick Castle and the new Alnwick Gardens are well worth a visit. The gardens were the highlight of our three day visit.
