The guest house is really well located for visiting Alnwick Castle & The Alnwick Garden right in the town. Although it was very reasonably priced our room was small and the shower room was tiny! Would be better if they made them into wet rooms to create a bit more space. It's ok for a 1 night stopover but I wouldn't want to be staying there any longer. Can't comment on breakfast as we walked into Alnwick to get something to eat. Also we found parking a bit of an issue and if the B&B is busy I think you will struggle to find somewhere to park. We had to coordinate with other guests who were staying because we had to block them in to get parked. I think the owners were away when we stayed and someone was looking after the place for them so we didn't actually see any staff there, our key was in the door when we arrived but I think this was an exception.

A very good location and a very good breakfast but that's all the Georgian Guest House has going for it!

Only one comfortable tatty chair to sit on in the room - the other was a fold away chair. The bathroom was narrow, poorly finished and bad lighting. Interior walls are thin and you are able to hear other guests coming and going - we were woken twice one night. The TV was rubbish! No freeview and a terrible picture. Towels were not changed during our visit and there were no heating factilities to dry them, this resulted in us drying them with a hair dryer on a few occasions. The bed was never made. The whole place was in need of redecoration... if we had not had paid prior to our visit we would have walked out!!!!!

Having been left high and dry with only 5 days to go before my break thanks to Northumberland Cottage, Eshott quibbling about the size of my dog I was very grateful to be pointed in the direction of the Georgian Guesthouse. Having spoken to Jo I felt much relieved, not a problem re the well behaved mutt!
I paid heed to the reviews re parking (I'm a wimp) but always found free parking barely a couple of minutes from the B&B so it wasn't an issue. Friendly welcome, lovely room and great breakfasts to set us up for a days walking and sightseeing.

Very friendly B and B with excellent family suite which actually comprises two rooms. The kids loved the fact that they had a room to themselves (and so did we) with a TV and a large collection of videos. Its located all of a five minute walk from the castle and gardens so no need to drive at all. There are a number of restaurants and pubs within east walking distance as well. The breakfast each morning was very nice. The only slight negative was the temperature in the shower was sometimes not very hot.
