“What a rip off”

We stayed at this hotel for a restful, luxurious break. It charges top country house hotel prices but is really not up to it. The staff are off hand. On arrival there was no one to take our bags or show us to our room. The room was comfortable but not luxurious, particularly the bathroom, and compares unfavourably with other hotels charging these prices. The restaurant staff seemed to want us to eat our dinner at top speed so they could be done with us. We had to call over the staff to take an order and some did this with ill grace. The hotel decor is shabby and the whole place felt unwelcoming. The bill was exorbitant compared with the experience.

“Spa break with the girls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We visited Fawsley Hall for a weekend with the girls, but we were also celebrating a forthcoming wedding. Fawsley Hall itself is not only a beautiful venue but the rooms were decorated to an exceptionally high standard - spacious, contemporary and with touches of vintage french style.

Food in Bess's Brasseries was delicious; we were concerned we'd end up with a poor deal not eating in Equilibrium but did not find this at all. Its as good (if not better) than any contemporary high street restaurant. The service was good if a little slow and it felt that perhaps the higher level of service was reserved for Equilibrium diners.

The spa facilities were clean, relaxing and staff welcoming, There was a slight issue with the boiler, which had apparently broken down earlier that day (that coupled with snow outside) meant the outside heated hydrotherapy pool wasn't in full use and the Steam room wasn't working so well either.

There is a cinema in the grounds, which is a great and interesting touch. I couldn't recommend this venue more.

Room Tip: If using the Spa or booking in a group, the rooms above Graycott spa are a great choice.

“Great romantic get away in the middle of the countryside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We spent Sunday 12th February 2012 at this lovely country hotel and spa. Adored the spacious room and huge en-suite, comfy large bed, views of the beautiful countryside. Very clean- the bathroom in particular was sparklingly clean. Plenty of hot water, a powerful shower, lovely products, the room was warm enough without being too hot. A small fridge was provided, which was lovely to pop a bottle of wine in we had bought along.Check-in was quite late, 3pm, so don't race to get there unless you want to have lunch beforehand. We very much enjoyed our lunch, valentine meal and breakfast. Not sure the set valentine meal was worth the price, but a lovely idea and menu nevertheless. We went along to the spa for a swim but unfortunately the boiler had broken with the cold snap we've just had and the pool was too cold to go in. The outdoor hot tub/jacuzzi wasn't hot enough either, which was a shame because we'd have loved to spend some time in it. We didn't have any treatments because they were fully booked, so i think the spa is popular- so book early if you can. Overall thoroughly recommended for a romantic break.

“Amazing Place & Would Highly Recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We visited Fawsley Hall for our Romantic Valentines Weekend and its the best place to go in the UK. The staff were very helpful, friendly and would do anything for you if asked. The food was outstanding even though I dont experiment outside my comfort zone I was so happy that I did as the taste was superb, compliments to the Chef, however if you decide to dine here you must book early as it got very busy throughout the evening and the staff was stretched which in turn seemed to be working under pressure. You must try the afternoon tea as its an experience in its self being in the Great Hall with all the history around you. Also I would recommend you to book the 1575 Suite as its amazing and huge, I walked in and was stunned with the character of the room and couldnt believe all the space and rooms that belonged to the suite. We went for a walk around the grounds and as you can gather we had snow this weekend and the scenery was fantastic. The Spa was very relaxing and we enjoyed every second of it. You must go and visit Fawsley Hall and hpefully enjoy the experience we did.

Room Tip: Book a suite
