31 members of my family stayed at the hotel to celebrate my husbands 65th birthday and retirement. what a wonderful time we had. Right from the start the staff could not have been more helpful curtious and professional. Everything we had asked for over the weekend was there and a big thank you goes to the events team for their organisational skills. The receptionist was a delight and very helpful and very patient as several of us were paying for other guests accomodation and nothing was to much trouble for her. The bar staff dealt with our coffe and lunch orders promptly, which in itself was remarkable due to the sudden volume of orders. We had a private dinner at night in one of the function rooms and the table looked beautiful. The duty manager (Dan) and his waiting staff were a credit to the hotel, all the food came out piping hot and the presentation was outstanding. Our thanks must also go to the chef for what could only be described as scrummy food, we also had a buffet lunch on the Sunday which again exceeded out expectations. I would like also to give credit to the housekeeping staff as all the bedrooms and public areas were spotless. If you are thinking of having a family get together or just a weekend away this is the hotel to use. CONGRATULATION BARCELO DAVENTRY

Second time staying for business. Rooms are large but very tired. Bathroom has lovely new sink then you turnaround and see moldy grout around the bath. Had lunch which was ok, but I only had baked potato. My colleagues were not complimentary about rest of food. Would I choose to come here on anything other than business...no.

we stayed here with 2 other couples as part of a new year's eve package and we were not dissappointed.check in was smooth and quick and the rooms were good,nice and warm and very clean as were all parts of the hotel.drinks at the bar were a little expensive, but the bar manager was very helpful in assisting us to pre order wine for the evening gala meal.the new year function was fab with a great meal and a really good disco that didn't end til almost 4 am!! i would not hesitate in recommending the barcelo.the buffet breakfast was the best i have eaten in a uk hotel,everything from fresh fruit and yogourt's to black pudding, fried bread, 2 types of egg and everything else you would expect . 10/10!!

This was a late booking and so the rate of £69 B&B was very good indeed.
They have a secure free car park which is a short walk to the reception but hey ho. The receptionist was very helpful indeed and the check in was quick, easy and painless. I was given clear directions to the room.
The room itself was huge with 2 double beds( Room 212). All the facilities were in the room and whilst the trouser press didn't work, the hotel had thought to put an ironing board and iron in the room, a real nice touch indeed.
They have a good sized bar area( just behind reception) and a pretty big restaurant. The breakfast was was well stocked and service was fast and efficient from the friendly staff. Hot and cold buffet, with fresh fuit salads.
I had room service in the evening and the food was veyr well prepped. "Hot Noodles" cooked with a nice touch of spice. Bread and dipping oils as a starter. A good full bodied red wine washed it down.
All in all, this hotel has a lot of facilities(leisure club /hair salon / sky sports on big screens etc) and all that someone could need.I would definitely use it again for business when in the area.
The only real negatives was that my window/windowsill was in need of some TLC but I don't stay in hotels to stare at the woodwork and when the curtains are closed, I don't give two hoots anyhow. The other was the fact that the wifi was chargeable..I still don't quite fathom that out in this day and age.
