Continuing our trip around Northamptonshire trying various pub lunches, we visited The Malsters Inn at Badby on a drab, cold wet day. Our welcome from the lass behind the bar was warm and cheery , and the glowing open fire in the bar area was very much appreciated. After we had taken a table close to the fire, and with pints in hand, we browsed the menu which we found was most extensive and well priced. Quite a range of starters, available in small, medium and large sizes, mains, lunch snacks, sweets, etc. We made our selection, and the meals were served quite promptly -- there were very few customers present on the day of our visit. The presentation and plating of the meals was of a high standard, and looked most inviting. The Mediterranean chicken salad was plentiful with a good variety of salad greens, and the Open Ciabatta with back bacon, brie, and cranberry, together with salad and coleslaw, was very tasty. Both meals were of excellent quality.
After finishing our meals, then chatting with a couple of locals, we left The Malsters Inn well satisfied with our lunch selection, and looking forward to trying more Northants pub lunches.
