Stayed at this pub after deciding late on the friday night we needed a break, phoned and booked a room for the following night. Arrived at about 5pm we were greeted and shown to our room, which was basic but clean and had everything we needed including a lovely comfy bed. (must point out stairs to rooms very steep but only to be expected in an old pub). After freshening up we went down to the bar and sat by the open fire where we had a drink while deciding what to eat. There was a good choice all locally sourced we stayed in the bar until our meal was ready then moved into the dining room where we ate an excellent meal with very attentive service. We had a good nights sleep no noise from the bar then in the morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast all freshly made. All in all we enjoyed our night here especially the food and hope to return soon. P.s. there was no mobile phone signal not that it made any difference.
