just thought i would comment as this hotel has had a few bad reports but me and my husband went there yesterday. We had previously booked in September and there was a little mix up with over booking. However When I rang joanne she apologised and offered us another room free of charge. We have had a lovely time and cannot complain at all. Very welcoming and the chef made a lovely breakfast!! Please give it a try! Lovely place. Friendly staff.

Arrived late at Holly Hill Inn to a warm welcome from proprietor Joanne. The pub was jumping - friendly locals, great ales, very good food. Our room upstairs was spacious with a generous bathroom. Bar noise did not travel upstairs.. Bed comfy - everything a high standard. Breakfast served in the large dining room - not too fancy but certainly adequate. The exterior of this pub is fairly modest - it belies the warm , fun bar and the excellent accommodation.

Visited this week 19th October, brilliant welcome from staff, fantastic food , best chips in yorkshire, dogs were welcome in bar area even supplied with dog chews for them would recomend a visit if you are in the area, thanks to Joanne ,you were brill.

We were staying in Richmond overnight and decided to opt for the Holly Hill Inn, which was recommended by where we were staying. The pub was welcoming and offered a varied choice of food. The duck starter was very tender and came with a Chinese-influenced dressing which complimented it perfectly. For the main course we opted for pie, which was very tasty with excellent home-cooked chips. Bar also offered a choice of real ale and a fine selection of single malts, which we had to sample, of course! Also had wine with the meal, which was reasonably priced, and the staff were very friendly. Located slightly out of Richmond itself but definitely worth the walk. An uphill climb but great views of Richmond Castle on the way.
