We booked out all of the rooms at Newton House at the beginning of August 2011 for our guests when we got married at Allerton Castle and both our guests and ourselves were extremely impressed. Denise and the team were extremely welcoming and always helpful. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the breakfast was very well presented and tasted fantastic. We also returned in October and will be doing so again in the not too distance future.

Stayed for a weekend with my Mother, sister, daughter and niece at the end of October, we wanted to stay in York but couldn't find anyway suitable. Had 2 interconnecting rooms, which was perfect.
The rooms were delightful and extremely comfortable. The mini bar was very well stocked!!
Denise couldn't have been more helpful and the breakfasts were wonderful. They were able to cater for every taste and a coeliac with no effort at all.
Would definitely recommend it and as it was only a pleasant 20 minutes on the train to York I would not consider driving and struggling to park there again. We thought Knaresborough was ok, but Newton House would be my choice for any future trips to the area without a doubt.

I stayed here in September 2011. I was the bridesmaid for my friend who was getting married at a church in Knaresborough and then having her reception at Allerton castle. The wedding party practicaly took over the guest house! Myself and another of the bridesmaids stayed in a room that interconnected with the room the bride and her sister were staying in which was very handy for us getting ready the next morning. The rooms were lovely, very tastfully decorated with a super comfy bed. All the little details were great, like the biscuits, well stocked minibar and the luxury toliteries.

Denise who I think is the owner was lovely and extremely helpful throughout our stay. She helped us find a storage place for the flowers overnight (in the cellar) arranged coffee and tea on our arrival and was very obliging with any requests we had.

My husband stayed in the room with me the second night and they turned the room from a twin room to a king room with minimal fuss.

The breakfast was delicious with a large selection of juices, cereals and fruits to help yourself to. The hot food cooked to order was promptly served and again there was a large selection.

I would highly recommend this guest house to friends and family looking for a luxury break in Knaresborough.

Just enjoyed a weekend break at Newton House and what a lovely experience it was. Denise met us as we arrived and was very friendly. She gave us some excellent advise about the local choices for evening meal. The room was first class and the breakfast had a very varied choice. The produce used was top quality and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone staying in this area.
