We stayed here for two nights with some close family who had stayed before. It really did tick all our boxes. The rooms are decorated in a modern contemporary style and kept in tip top spotlessly clean condition. There are ample clean fluffy towels and plenty of complimentary toileteries in the bathrooms. We were in Room 1 which had a lovely big bathroom and overlooked Knaresborough Railway Station. The setting is great, it's in a lovely spot, with old cobbled streets and cottages all around. Straight out the door, over the railway and up the street and within five minutes you're on the quaint old market place. The breakfast really is one of the best I have ever had. All cooked to order, local produce and nothing too much trouble. As other reviewers have already said it really does set you up for the day. Lesley the host at breakfast time was great fun; more than happy to chat and pass the time of day. She was also a font of local knowledge, telling us a bit about the history of the place as well as practical stuff like train times. The pub itself is great, with a full range of local ales as well as some continental beers. We didn't have a bad pint all weekend!! No wonder this place is a regular in the good pub guide!! This really was a great find. A top place to stay in the lovely old market town of Knaresborough, with one of the best breakfasts around. We will be back!
