“A fabulous place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

The Judges at Kirklevington is a converted stately home.

The service and quality of accommodation are to a very high standard. We stayed on boxing day in a family room and very much enjoyed it.

The grounds are fantastic, overlooking a small stream at the foot of the hill where the hotel rests, and well worth exploring.

The restaurant is exceptional - we were sat in the conservatory overlooking the grounds. The food was very well prepared with a choice to suit all tastes.

The room we stayed in was a family room. The room even came with 'Chum' the goldfish which was a really nice touch and helped us settle our 4 year old in easily.

Breakfast again in the conservatory was very good - quite something watching the deer in the field through a clearing in the wood while enjoying some excellent food.

The staff at the hotel are all friendly and helpful - especially those working in the restaurant / at breakfast.

I look forward to returning.

Room Tip: If you can get a room at the rear of the hotel looking towards the stream I would recommend you do.

“Party perfection : )”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We had my daughters birthday party at Judges for many reasons, the location was really good for us and our guests but mainly because we'd eaten and stayed at the hotel before so we knew the standards would be high.

The function suite (Courtyard Suite) is a building just to the right of the main hotel which is a good idea, you have your own entrance, own bar and own space without worrying about the hotel guests wandering in, etc.
It's a really well set out building and the whole, bar, food area, etc was perfect for the 100 guests we had coming.

The Hotels events staff helped me organise the party, made suggestions for decorations, themes and local companies such as the DJ, cake supplier, etc who had been there many times before and could be relied on.

I could spend a huge amount of time telling you how great the food was, that the kitchen and bar staff were excellent, and that everything came together on time and exactly as I'd requested to make this one amazing night.
One of the mamangers called Neil was superb on the night, coordinating everything, looking after the guests and constantly checking with me that everything was going well and there were no issues.

You will always find cheap places to hold a party and event, the upstairs room of the local pub, the local community centre, etc but cheap is cheap and cheap is the message you will be giving to your guests
Judges is about quality, comfort and luxury in the food, in the service, and when you have an event of any type this is what you want, the best costs more but if your going to do it then you should do it right.

If your in the Middlesbrough/Stockton/Teeside area and you need a party type venue then I can't recommend Judges highly enough to you.

“Excellent night”

We were celebrating our anniversary so decided to book the Sunday night table for 2 offer. It was fabulous.
We were greated at the door and shown to the lounge for our champagne and pre dinner nibbles.
The choice from the menue/wine list was very good considering the offer price.(£105.00 instead of £155 for 2 people)
We were seated in the conservatory restaurant watching the rabbits bobbing about on the floodlight lawn area.
The food was fabulous and the service superb.
After dinner we were taken back into the lounge for coffee and a brandy(or drink of your choice) and were suprised by a lovely presentation of hand made sweets and lovely cheeses with an happy anniversay message iced onto the trays. This was such a lovely touch and just goes to show how much attention to detail the staff at Judges pride themselves on.
if you have not tried this offer yet IT IS A MUST. You will not be dissapointed and like us will be keen to visit again as soon as possible.
This was our 2nd visit but will definately not be our last.

“The first of many stays”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I have just come back from a one night stay at this hotel which I booked as a xmas present for my husband. The room was lovely, although a more up to date TV would be a good improvement. The food was fantastic and the service was first class. It was definitely one of the best evening meals I have ever had in a hotel stay and we have had lots. The attention to detail on everything from checking in to dining, to the room itself was very good. We will definitely be going back again and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys good food, good service and peace and quiet.

Room Tip: Definitely worth paying the little bit extra for a deluxe double rather than the standard room

What a super way to start the day and thank you for our 100th review! I shall pass on your very kind comments to the team and I know that they will be be chuffed because they pore over every bit of feedback very carefully. Thank you also for the nudge on the TV, whilst picture quality is the key thing for me we do have a rolling programme of installing more modern-looking TV's. We all look forward to welcoming you both back to Judges in the years to come. Kindest regards, Tim Howard GM 31/1/12

“Excellent Hotel. You MUST try it!”

I stayed at this hotel on 13th Dec as I was away on business, I had not booked in advance so was extremley happy to be told there were rooms available and was even upgraded as they had just received a cancellation. The staff are so friendly and the whole experience made staying away from home an absolute pleasure. The goldfish and teddy in the room was such a lovely touch and the jacuzzi bath was wonderful. i will definately be back. Thank you for such a lovely stay (sorry it's taken so long to write this).

Room Tip: Room 8 is fantastic if it is available.
