For those who are looking at the perfect wedding venue it's definitely worth considering Simonstone Hall for many reasons. When we first arrived to have a look at the place we were greeted by Emma (the wedding co-ordinator) who was more than helpful. We then decided to have a look round and the place just seemed so down-to-earth, tastefully decorated and traditional. The setting is pretty good too, where it overlooks the hills. We were adamant that this was the venue for us.

Throughout the 12 month planning process of our wedding the staff at Simonstone Hall we're so helpful and so accommodating. The chef was absolutely fantastic when we had our wedding breakfast sample. We'd been to Simonstone Hall a few times for the wedding and we we're always made to feel so welcome.

Anyway our wedding day arrived and the staff here were fantastic, for every single minute of the day, and the day before they were always available to help. The food on the day was exceptional, the wedding co-ordinator (Emma) recommended the amount of time required for speeches, food, etc and this worked out just perfect.

Our wedding guests too commented on how fantastic the atmosphere was at Simonstone, something you can't really put into words; you've just got to go yourself and sample the atmosphere.

And our pockets didn't suffer. The prices of beers and the menu were pretty good, the wedding didn't cost us an arm and leg and yet, despite the modest price, we got more than our money's worth.

What more can I say? There's not a single thing I'd change about Simonstone Hall. Even their website looks fantastically classy. Whether you're looking for a place to eat (because the food is exceptional), or want to book your wedding venue I'd seriously take a look at this place. You can make a day out of it too as Hawes is fantastic, there's some lovely waterfalls and, of course, the Buttertubs Pass (the greatest road in Britain for driving). Oh and Simonstone even have a small gallery of wedding albums for you to look at while you're there.

What a find! This hotel is set in The Dales with stunning views. The hotel itself is lovely with tartan carpets, open fires and a genuine warm and friendly atmosphere. Our room was spacious and furnished with charming furniture. The food was lovely and the wine list was more than adequate! Staff were very helpful and catered to our every need...so much so that the manager bought in our favourite tipple which was not something they usually stock. Hawes village is lovely and I will definitely be returning to the hotel in the spring or summer to explore the surrounding areas.

My partner and I went to Simonstone Hall for a wedding in November and wow what a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived on the Friday at this Country House Hotel we were greeted with tea and sandwiches, a roaring fire and the setting in the Yorkshire Dales overlooking Hawes is breathtaking. Our room was luxurious with views of the dales. It was a beautiful setting for a wedding and the food and service throughout the weekend was excellent.

Simonstone Hall is simply wonderful, set in the lush green of the Yorkshire Dales with picture-postcard views in all directions. Rooms are beautifully appointed and quite luxurious. The staff is friendly and helpful, and Franco the manager is great. The good is great and much of it is locally-sourced.
We originally chose Simonstone as a place to celebrate our 20th anniversary and loved it so much that we've been back several times since --including last week. It's also a fantastic base for walkers -- most recently, we've hiked the Great Shunner Fell and have done the Three Peaks during earlier visits (in warmer weather!) Happily, our daughter is at uni in York so we have lots of excuses to visit now.
