Had a lovely break at Townend Farm, the room was immaculate ,breakfasts hearty, Julie and Iain were wonderful hosts, and Julie even helped us out with her local mechanic when we had a little car trouble. Thanks to you both we will definitely be back if the car can cope .

My brother in law and I normally do a 60-70 mile walking trip around September time and usually book into bed and breakfast or small hotels. You really need a good place to stay at the end of the day and Townend Farm is about as good as it gets in terms of B&B accommodation.
Rooms are of a superb quality, with everything you could reasonably want as well as some very nice extras which make the whole experience excellent value for money. Breakfast is superb and makes an ideal start to a walking day.
Worth considering as a base for Staithes or Whitby given it's relatively close proximity.
We will be back for sure...

WOW, wonderful warm welcome but then showed to a spotlessly clean spacious room with great facilities. I cant remember the date of our stay think it was late March early April 2010, but would go back at the drop of a hat. cant speak highly enough.

Just stayed for 3 nights while in the area visiting family. Beautifully equipped rooms.Spotlessly clean. Well appointed. The little extras in the bathroom such as shampoo, shower gel, moisturiser and bath robes were an added bonus. The kids enjoyed the beverages,cookies,fresh milk and bottles of water while watching DVD's on the flat screen TV. There is also a TV room available, with Sky TV. Julie and Ian are great hosts and make guests feel very welcome in their home. Will definately stay here again when in the area.

I was visiting Whitby and found this B&B on the web. Townend Farm was a great B&B with nice, spacious and very clean room. My room was on the top floor and I liked it because it had great natural lighting. Actually I noticed that all three rooms were on the top floor. Julie was very friendly in helping me and suggested restaurants and places around the location. The breakfast was great and of high quality. Townend also provided a lot of parking space which is another plus. One point to notice is this B&B is about 25mins from Whitby. The only minor thing is the room was a bit cold and not sure if this was due to UK weather then. I definitely look forward to visit this B&B in the future !
