Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by a nice lady, who upgraded us from our 4 bed bunk, to a 6 bed bunk with 'full self-catering facilities'.
It was very basic, as we expected, but the bottom sheets on the beds had not been changed, it looked like someone had just slept in them and spilt their hot chocolate! There was not enough mugs and cutlery for 4 people, nevermind 6! The shower room is a wet room style, so there is no floor dry once you have finished, so we used the campers showers (as was everyone else!), which were heated under floor which was nice. One morning we noticed that one of the shower gel dispensers had been broken off the wall (not by us!) and contents everywhere, and when we came back in the evening had not been fixed or cleaned. Therefore had ANY of the showers been cleaned? Plenty of free hot water.
Picnic tables outside came in usefull for bbq-ing.
No probs with noise, even though there was a mini-bus of youths next-door-but-one and about 15 youths camping.
Bunkhouse was warm enough, large beds. Lots of cobwebs. Could do with a thorough clean.
Camping field looked very level, although hard under foot.
I would come back again, even though basic, as it is comfier and warmer than camping. You get what you pay for!
