Stayed here before, very friendly staff, comfy bed, food very nice ,we stayed in a small bedroon this time but it was ok , look forward to staying again next year

We stayed here for a family occasion, booking 3 delux rooms for 2 nights & lunch for 14 people. It took a few emails to arrange, and the manageress sorted everything we needed very efficiently. The room I stayed in was Ok, it could have done with the cobweds on the ceiling dusting, & I've slept in better beds, but it was a good size with nice bathroom. There was only 1 towell when we checked in, but this was immediately sorted. Breakfasts are good.
Our family lunch was lovely, all serviced perfectly, kids getting theirs first which always helps. they didn't mind us decorating with balloons, and looked after flowers for us.
The second night had serious plumbing problems, very loud banging in the pipes at 1am. After 1 phone call, then a trip to reception, we were all moved smartly to a part of the hotal unaffected by the noise.These were not delux, and were smaller, with much smaller bathrooms. Good job they had spare rooms. They then didn't charge for that night. So although we had little sleep we felt we had been treated well.
Things can go wrong, it is the way that they are dealt with that matters, and this was dealt with in the best way. We could not complain.

small problem with plumbing sorted out immediately and even given a reduction in room rate - meals superb, we will be back next month

Lovely staff,, but the infrastructure is cheap b&b standard. The waitress/manager and owner do not know how to deal with customer feedback and reacted defensively and aggressively when I complained about a faulty ironing board that had melted and ruined my shirt. They provide in-room feedback forms which they then criticise you for filling in. I rated them excellent on all things but they ignored this and harassed me instead about the constructive suggestions I had given them. Need modern showers with thermostats to avoid scalding risks, need aircon or windows that open properly, need ironing boards that don`t melt and give off poisonous plastic fumes. The rest of the staff were lovely, food is excellent, location good. But if you wany service not dictatorship and arrogance, then avoid it!
