“Good value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Booked the Thomas Suite which had a very spacious lounge area (two settees, fridge and a large wall mounted flat screen television) and very tastefully decorated. The bedroom was spacious and well equipped as was the bathroom. Ate our evening meal in the newly renovated bar/restaurant, the food was good, tasty and very reasonably priced. Overall, we were very impressed with the hotel and all the staff working there and would definitely stay again if in the area.

“Very very nice stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Booked the hotel as a treat for my boyfriend's birthday on Laterooms.com for £49.95 with breakfast.

Very impressed with the standard of service and the quality of the hotel.
Receptionists were lovely, explained everything about the room key, booked our taxis to the local pub for something to eat (we should have just walked, its only 2 minutes walk down the road...) and reserved a table. (Black bull serves delicious food by the way!!!!)

As the hotel was quiet the offered room service for breakfast so provided a menu for us to choose from and pick a time for when we got the food. Overall very satisfied with the hotel and at such a good price too.

Hotel was tastefully decorated, not tired/worn like you can sometimes get.
Only small issue was the doors that constantly slam.
Will definitely be back though.

“Average...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

A group of us stayed here in Feb, as we were going to a wedding nearby the following day. The rooms were basic but clean and spacious and had everything you needed. The bar/restaurant was being renovated so we had to go to a local pub in the evening, which was only a short walk away.

We had all pre- booked breakfast with our rooms. When we got there we realised that as the girls had to leave early the next day (we were all bridemaids) we wouldn't have time to eat breakfast before we left. We explained this to reception and asked if we could cancel our breakfasts. The lady on reception said this wouldn't be a problem, but as it the hotel wasn't busy she could tell the cook to start making breakfast for us early if we wanted. However when we went to get breakfast the next morning, the cook had not been told anything and nothing was ready. She put some toast on for us while we grabbed a bowl of cereal, but we didn't have time to wait for her to cook anything. So we each paid about £8 for a bowl of cereal and piece of toast.

“Couldn't be friendlier”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

Stayed here overnight whilst at a nearby wedding. Room clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Only downside was had requested gluten, dairy free breakfast but the message had not been passed from the hotel to the restaurant so was not available. Had to buy on the way home. Shame because couldn't fault anthing else.
