Our family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children stayed here for 1 night in September 2011. We stayed in the main lodge. Our room was upstairs and was on the small side as was the tiny bathroom. The walls are thin and the corridor poorly lit. From the moment we arrived, I felt we were intruding and a bit of a nuisance. We asked about dinner in the downstairs restaurant on arrival - about 6.30-7 pm and were told that it wasn't available even though there was a couple eating in the restaurant. We asked about local pubs to eat and got the reply that there were 2 but none could be recommended as it had been years since she had eaten there. As it was, we found a brilliant pub with accommodation and wish we had found it before our actual accommdation. Breakfast was OK with very small portions. I felt that the children, aged 10 and 11 were not welcome and I really think that this accommodation may be better suited to elderly couples or singles.
