“Comfortable stay in a beautiful area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

Travelling with a group of 12 on our annual car club event. This is the second time we have visited Middle Flass and was as equally as enjoyable as our first in 2009. The rooms are very clean, tidy and well decorated plus very efficient heating! The service and food was all very good. Thank you Joan & Nigel for your hospitality and doubtless we will be back again!

Room Tip: Stayed in the annex both times. Rooms 6 & 7 both very good. Floorboards bit creaky though!

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

Have stayed and eaten at Middle Flass several times both with our family and on our own. It is extremely welcoming and the owners clearly enjoy meeting their guests. It has a lot of character and if you choose to eat in, the food is traditional, excellent quality, very well cooked and presented. To complement it there is a very good wine list and for any whisky drinkers the bar supplies a range of very good malts from the major whisk(e)y producing regions of Scotland and Ireland. In all it provides what is essentially the best of Lancashire hospitality and to those where county rivalry is important it is only a very few miles away from its Yorkshire neighbour. In addition to its hospitality it is located in a very quiet, beautiful part of the county which is relatively traffic free.

“Come Back to This Like a Yo-Yo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

This Guest House is such good value for money. Comfortable, clean, welcoming (coffee and scones on arrival!!) - and in a pretty setting. Hard to find, but well worth the effort. Should you wish an evening meal you're in for a treat. Nigel is a first class chef. We've been many times, and will continue to use this as a base to explore the wonderful area.

“Wonderful stay - Highly recommended!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

My partner and I have literally just returned from our 2 night stay at Middle Flass Lodge and can highly recommend it. We were greeted after a somewhat fraught journey by Joan and Nigel who immediately put us at ease and gave us our coffee and cake. Whilst both were fabulous, as the driver I can tell you the coffee was welcomed after a long journey.

We were left in peace in the lounge to relax and then were shown to our room. We were in the annex and had a great double room with a lovely prospect. The room was well kitted out with everything we needed including mineral water, hot chocolate and biscuits and a range of toiletries in the bathroom. The shower was amazing! After staying in a very dodgy B&B the week before my partner and I were a little worried but we didn't need to. Our room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. Our only whinge was that the room was a little noisy - we could hear everything from next door the moment they stepped out of bed but I think work to solve this would probably take away the character of the property which would be a huge shame. We just made sure we kept our noise down and walked lightly - it didn't spoil our experience.

We chose to dine during our first evening and again I must say Joan and Nigel could not have been more obliging and Nigel, you are a brilliant cook - evening meal and breakfast were fabulous.

I can really recommend this place if you are in need of a place to unwind. Your hosts word endlessly to serve your needs and are really accommodating.

Thank you Joan and Nigel for a wonderful stay.

“Excellent choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2011

Needed a quiet, relaxing weekend and this was exactly it, with the addition of great hosts and great food. Couldn't fault it and it would be churlish to try. Also, nothing was too much trouble for the hosts, and tea and cakes on arrival was very welcome indeed. The breakfasts are excellent with plenty of choice. The location is fantastic for walking, cycling or just relaxing in the lounge and there's plenty to do nearby.
