A lot of care and attention has certainly gone into decorating the rooms at the Gallery House - light, spotlessly clean, airy and modern, our room was a pleasure to stay in.
There are three bedrooms (2 doubles and a single) on the first floor of a detached house, off a small landing. Our double had a shower and hand-basin right in the room (not screened off), but there is a gorgeous bathroom (shared between the three rooms) and a separate WC (again shared). We were the only guests, but I can imagine it may feel a little crowded if all rooms are occupied.
The location is central and convenient - just a few minutes from the high street, near lovely restuarants (try Wheelers, for sure). This is very much a town B&B - don't expect sea views. The trainline does run at the back of the house, and although our bedroom faced it, it was not at all a problem - it is far enough away, separated by a strip of green land, and trains are infrequent, so noise was not an issue.
Breakfast is left for you in the fridge, I'd recommend the simpler cereal and toast option, as this keeps better overnight and seems better value.
We never actually saw the owner (who lives downstairs) and apart from a glitch with the heating (which left us shivering for an evening) had a pleasant stay.
