Grandview itself is such a quaint little town. The room at The Buxton Inn was very warm & inviting, The bed was VERY comfortable. A nice little terrace of sorts out the back door with a cute little table & chairs to sit and relax. It overlooked the courtyard area - made me enjoy my evening glass of wine even more than normal! Service was friendly. Had supper in the restaurant & the food was wonderful. The only 'down-side' is no elevator - the rooms are housed in old historical homes - so the stair cases are narrow & steep. If you cannot carry your luggage up the steps, make sure to request a ground floor room.

My husband and I stayed at the Buxton Inn B & B on Friday, July 22, 2011. Our room was clean and comfortable. Ohio was experiencing temps in the upper 90s so the room was a little warm upon arrival, but it quickly cooled down once we adjusted the temperature gauge. I was hoping to check-in early, but our room was unavailable until our posted check-in time of 3:00 p.m. It wasn't a problem as I spent the time visiting the local stops and ended up at the local library a block away and caught up on some reading. We visited the pub in the basement which was fun in the evening. The beer was cold and service was good (we didn't order food). Breakfast was what I would call deluxe continental; there were muffins, cereals, yogurt, coffee, and a nice assortment of teas. Would definitely recommend staying here over one of the higher priced chain hotels located off the interstate. Oh, and we didn't see any ghosts!

I went here with my family for a birthday just tonight...the place smelled of mildew as soon as we walked in! We asked to be moved away from a window air conditioner....the entire place needs a super upgrade....very smelly....We were the only people in the place and now I know why....I cant even believe they are still in business....I accidently spilled my drink in the hall way and they acted like I was wasted....cut me off. I only had one drink and apologized 100 times....the food was not that great and when the waitress came back and told me she couldnt serve me anymore....that was fine....however....after i paid the check I just had to go back in and apologize again....when i did...two men...I assume the owners....told me to get the hell out and never come back.....which was fine with me....I told them i would never be back....I just cant believe they did this....its no wonder no one was in the dining room....steer clear...its just not worth it....If the food and place was great...I could understand...but it was NOT...its sad because this place has such history....I was looking forward to it....

The Hotel is like going back in time. The rooms are clean and comfotable and the rates are low. Food was great and affordable. The lounge has about any drink you want and bartenders are great. I would highly recommend.
