We had originally intended to travel to the Isle of Wight for a big wedding anniversary last year, but due to illness had to cancel at the last minute. At the time we vowed to make the trip this year as we were really disappointed at not getting to see the family members who we'd not seen for a good number of years.
Thanks to the fantastic help we'd received from Levante when we'd had to cancel the previous year, we decided to book there again and boy, are we glad we did! The quality of service we received, the standard of our room, the friendliness of the owners, the breakfast (including the nicest bacon I have ever tasted) - everything really - really helped to make this a fantastic trip for us. As the title says, we plan to return every year to keep in touch with the family we have in the Isle of Wight and we will always book into Levante.
For us the location turned out to be perfect. It is around 20-30 minutes away from the ferry terminal at Fishbourne and just a short drive or pleasant walk over to our relatives' houses, but it's also just a short walk down hill to the beach with it's entertainment attractions and also not too far from the town centre. Parking in the area is reserved for residents and permit holders but upon our arrival and every morning after there was a day permit for our car waiting for us so we had no problems at all.
Our party consisted of myself, my wife and our four year old son, who can be a little difficult at meal times. The staff were happy to offer him whatever he wanted to eat and didn't mind when he didn't like something or changed his mind two minutes later. Speaking of food, did I mention how nice the bacon was? There was a wide choice of food available for breakfast. Toast was served with a selection of preserves, many cereals were on hand to choose from and a (fantastic) cooked breakfast was also offered. There was also a large selection of morning beverages including fruit juice, various coffees and teas and also hot chocolate, which our son particularly enjoyed. A selection of yogurts were also available and another guest chose scrambled eggs for his breakfast. The staff seemed happy to provide whatever we asked for and there were probably a lot more things on hand than I remember.
The room was furnished with with a large, comfortable double bed. A temporary bed had been added for our son. There was plenty of storage available for all our clothes, hot drink making facilities, a flatscreen TV with Freeview channels, a bedside radio and alarm clock and also another alarm clock just in case. The en-suite bathroom was equipped with an incredible shower with settings to wash pretty much any part of your body you could ever want.
In short, we can't find a single thing we didn't like about our stay at Levante and because of that, there'd be no reason at all to stay anywhere else when we return to Ryde.
