Excellent location, friendly owners.... Value for money. Yea is slightly dated but not to an extent which is horrible. I would visit again. :-)

We stayed here on the weekend of 30th July and very much enjoyed our stay, we walked off the passenger ferry and was at Seahaven House within 10 mins so it was very convenient for that. When we got to the hotel we were greeted by a friendly chap who checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed, once into our room we were admittedly slightly disapointed with the dated decor but everything was clean which was the main thing and we had a great view of the sea. In the morning we went down for breakfast, the breakfast is fantastic and service as quick and efficient. In a nutshell a great hotel, if the decor was up to date I would have scored it a 5 but then we probably would have paid a lot more!
What a pleasant surprise from the lower expectations I had about a small B&B in a city on the Isle of Wight. The location was great, the view was charming, the hotel was clean and modern, I slept exceptionally well and the breakfast was first rate. The staff were perfectionists and that's a good thing!
Don't know what the other reviewers are moaning about?? Must be new owners as they are a lovely couple who were really helpful. It is a lovely Victorian building which has clearly been refurbished recently ( didn't get a chance to ask) and is in a BRILLIANT location.
You can't ask for much more than seaviews with a lovely fresh cooked breakfast and FREE Internet all for around £30 each.
We will be back.
The owned acts like she’s doing you a favor by letting you stay at her mediocre, in need of refurbishment place.
Even before we arrived, the owner called us at 9:00 or a Saturday morning (the day we were meant to arrive) demanding to know where we were, in a rude tone. When informed that we would be arriving later in the day, the owner gave us time slots for when it would be convenient for her to arrive (it’s not like we’re paying her or anything!). When we made reservations, it didn't say anywhere that we were to check in at a certain time.
When we did arrive, I accidentally dropped a TINY piece of food in the sitting area. Quite tired and with hands were full of bags, I couldn’t attend to the matter right away and went upstairs to put my things down. As soon as I walked into the room, we got a call from the landlady, going off about the tiny piece of food and how we needed to come back down stairs to clean it up. INCREDIBLY PETTY. It turned out that the entire place was run in this manner. Various signs are posted around of what "guests" are NOT supposed to do. Prison camp much???
When we checked out, we asked if we could leave our bags while we went out to explore. The owner flatly said no, so we were left to wonder the island with all of our bags.
To be fair, there were a FEW positives, like wireless internet, location and a decent breakfast, but to be honest, who wants to eat or spend time inside of place where you don’t feel comfortable or wanted? I’ve stayed in some very shabby accommodations in third world countries, but this was the first time I experienced such AWFUL service and felt so unwanted before even arriving. It felt more like a prison camp than a bed and breakfast and I would never return there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
