Priced surprisingly affordable, located in the middle of nowhere and the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Prepare yourself to be taken through a guided tour by the owner Laurie Hostetler. She'll dine with you, teach you yoga, tell you inspiring stories and put you in the proper mental space to appreciate your break from the real world.

The atmosphere is quaint, the food is on the super healthy side, and you'll spend a lot of time in a communal setting (unless you can afford to rent the whole place out yourself!!!) :)

I've purchased gift certificates for the woman in my life on several occasions and let me tell you something... talk about the PERFECT gift for your wife! Seriously, if you are a married man reading this post... look into it.

“A most amazing and wonderful experience!”

The Kerr House is a perfect example of what a "health retreat" should be! The house is a charming and beautifully restored Victorian Mansion. It is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The food is beyond outstanding and it is all organic and healthy. The spa services, which were all inclusive, included 2 facials, 3 massages, citrus body exfoliation, reflexology and more. All of the staff were so caring and professional and provided an excellence in service that far exceeded industry standards. There were multiple opportunities for excercise classes each day. One of my favorite moments of each day was the little knock on my door in the morning from a warm and friendly woman who was in charge of waking the guests up with a fantastic breakfast tray in bed! The wonderful woman who has owned and run the Kerr House since it started 30 years ago, Laurie, is such an awesome hostess, teacher of healthy life style, and conversationalist. The house only takes 6 or so guests a week so we all got to know each other very well and we left having made new friends from all over the country. If you are looking for a chance to change your life, inside and out, this is the place to go! This is not a spa experience that is all about exterior beauty. It is a health retreat for body, mind and spirit!

I live outside of Toledo Ohio and have always heard about the Kerr house however I have never been there. After our our usual family trek up to Boyne Mountain and Mackinaw in Michigan I was alittle stressed ( I had an autistic three year old and two disabled parents traveling with us ). I live for spa treatments and have been half way around the world in search of the perfect spa experience. Little did I know it was in my backyard !
Laurie was gracious enough to squeeze me in the next week ! What an AMAZING experience , I was able to relax and more importantly I was able to learn how to relax. I still use my yoga CD.
I just booked myself again after Christmas and before Disney and I can not wait. The Kerr house is not only for the body you will come home with a rejuveniated mind and soul !

“where I go to regain myself!”

I returned from my latest visit to The Kerr House a week ago feeling the bliss I typically find after a 5 night visit. Over the past 10 years I visit about twice yearly and have been completely satisfied with each experience; one transcending to the next learning more and more and gaining more reward each time!

The Kerr House is called a Spa, however, it is much more. It is a WHOLISTIC (whole you) experience. The Director, Laurie Hostetler is a "sage wisdom" woman with a wealth of knowledge about health, food and exercise. The Yoga classes are physical, emotional and spiritual healing. The organically prepared lunches are quaint and lively and the dinners are served in the Victorian dining room and often includes a fascinating surprise; mealtime at the Kerr House is very special. The Spa treatments are lovely, presented by long time staff who love and appreciate the "special" destination the guests have come to. There is never any pressure to "buy" anything but the parlor offers many educational and fun items that augment the overall theme of the mansion and the spa program.

I have visited with friends and family, yet, I still return most often alone where I find solace, rejuvenate my body and soul, and meet people from other walks of life during this very intimate and exhilarating time I give myself.

I cannot wait to return again in October!!

“Truly Unique”

This is the third time that my wife and I have stayed with Laurie and her wonderful staff, for 5 days each time. Each experience has surpassed the previous one and we always leave with a sense of well-being and peace that is truly special. I had the first massage, facial, manicure and yoga class of my life at our first stay at the Kerr House, and I was made to feel comfortable, welcomed and even pampered. I never felt that I was an alien in a "women's world".
Everything is spotlessly clean, and the bedrooms and parlors are so filled with interesting antiques that we are still noticing things that we had missed on previous stays. The food is both "good for you" - natural, organic, carefully selected - and delicious. Every meal reflected imagination and thoughtful preparation.
Laurie Hostetler is the magic ingredient that brings it all together in a consistently cohesive environment of caring for, and interest in, each individual who comes in the door, whether for a day or two, or for a more extended stay.
My wife and I commend it to you without reservation.
