We have just returned from a lovely stay at Little Hallingbury Mill, can't wait to go back. There was a beautiful New Years Eve meal, worthy of any top West End restaurant, Derek was a great host, going to a lot of trouble to organise music and atmosphere in the bar afterwards, with champagne supplied to all at midnight. The accommodation was lovely, really comfortable bed, very nice breakfast, just no negatives. We went there to cheer ourselves up after a particularly awful year and it was everything we could have hoped for, peaceful, relaxing but friendly chats with staff and other guests too - wish we had stayed longer, we will next time!!

This Hotel is lovely! My husband and I couldn't decide what was the best part of our stay.
The breakfast was very tasty as was our dinner. I chose the set menu which was very reasonable at £11.50 for two courses. The salmon was cooked to perfection. My husband had the mixed grill. The steak was cooked how he had asked which never seems to be the case.Our room was very nice with a view of the river. We were very chuffed with that. To top it all off was the lovely staff who were delightful. This is a gem of a place and I can't wait to return.

We found this out of the ordinary and exquisite accommodation online whilst exploring the Sawbridgworth area and were not disappointed. We had a lovely evening meal in the bar whilst chatting to Derek the owner, who was a great host. The room was comfortable, clean and the overall stay was certainly value for money. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast for both business and pleasure. Thank you Derek!

Little Hallingbury Mill is so picturesque it could have come straight from the pages of 'Wind in the Willows' by Kenneth Grahame.
We stayed there for a couple of nights when visiting our daughter in Sawbridgeworth and were extemely impressed with the location. It really is a watermill and the stretch of water beside it is a haven for wildlife. I have never seen so many dragonflies in one place and the fish had to be seen to be believed. Derek told us there was also a pair of Kingfishers in residence but alas we didn't see them on our visit.
We were so impressed with the place that we booked Sunday lunch, where the children were not only well catered for, they were made to feel really welcome as well.
The only downside is that our daughter has now moved so we no longer need to travel so far south and so don't have the excuse to stay there - but certainly if we are ever in the area again, we will return for a meal and a drink if nothing else.
