“We always come back!”

We had our Civil Partnership celebration here - and we couldn't fault anything. We dine here - [ we live only five minutes walk away ] - and whenever we have family visiting they absolutely insist on dining at "The Falcon". We are never disappointed. John and Silvia Silver have transformed what was a pub with rooms into a hotel of character. Yes, it is true we often dine elsewhere, but we always come back to The Falcon.

Room Tip: For our Civil Partnership we took over the hotel and had not one complaint.

For the price cannot and would not complain! Food was very nice as were the local beers. Its a very old building so some of the floors are a bit uneven but thats all part of the character!

“Diamond Wedding celebrations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

Truly my favourite place. I thought long and hard about where to have lunch for 17 people which would consist of excellent food, wonderful surroundings and marvellous staff, only too happy to please. We had The Oak Room to ourselves, beautifully decorated and with a roaring fire, we enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch. Followed by a Magician as entertainment and more than enough food, which for the older generation is what they mostly go out for! I am not surprised or phased by the pathetic mis-spelled nonsense written by some guests. Ignore them - you get what you give with John and Silvia and their daughter Jane, and who are they, from The North mostly to criticise attitudes and portion sizes. I would thoroughly recommend it and would also recommend that you take the time out to talk to the Silvers. Marvellous people

Room Tip: Ask Silvia politely which one she would recommend

“A highly entertaining stay with some truly barking owners (great stuff)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011 via mobile

My wife and I stayed at the Falcon Bromyard for a recent wedding... The building is full of beautiful 16th century beams... Rooms clean tidy, slightly compact... Read the other reviews but the owners are true charators and they make the rules but at the same time for a short stay I would also say highly entertaining to watch... Recommend shortish stays but well worth a visit...

“Could be described as very different”

Been here twicel - execentric is the word i would use for the landlady - 1st time my wife and I asked for plowmans lunches and ended up with about a pound and a half of cheese each and a plate full of salad which looked as if the fridge door had been opened and just about everything tipped on the plate! We were also re-seated by the landlady who told us where to sit and also regaled us with stories about how people come in and don't pay attention to the menues and think they can sit where they like - all very strange - but i have to say we did enjoy this rather odd (sorry - very odd) experience! On the 2nd occasion we were just in the town and felt we would stop for a drink, I stood at the bar (no one else waiting to be served) with the landlady dotting backwards and forwards doing, well I'm not sure what. No exageration after over 10 minutes of just standing there at the empty bar I gave up and we just walked out. We quite literally felt as if the landlady was so engrossed she really did not want to have to serve us - very strange! This is a very odd set up and whilst i have no intention of going back I would suggest you give it a try out and judge for yourself.
