“An excellent overnight stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We used this very welcoming accommodation for an overnight stay on our way to join our cruise in Southampton. Having been greeted with a pot of tea and home made cake we were shown to our clean, comfortable room. The offer (accepted) of more tea on our return from the town after going for a meal was very pleasant and the Residents Lounge a good venue to take it whilst watching the television news.

If the weather is inclement, as it was for us, umbrellas are available at the entrance to Whitemoor House. Parking is a little tight, but if all those staying park properly it is adequate and secure enough to leave any baggage, not needed during the stay, in your vehicle.

Although the accommodation is strictly bed and breakfast the town is only a short walk away (parking is restricted and walking is recommended) where various types of food are available in the pubs, restaurants, and fast food outlets at reasonable prices.

On the subject of breakfast, it was of a good standard, freshly cooked with plenty of tea (or coffee if preferred) and toast available.

Only one small incident marred our stay and it was not totally the fault of our hosts. Late arriving tourists, who lacked English, were unable to read the room names on the doors and attempted to enter our room by mistake and as a result disturbed our sleep. Without this I would willingly have provided a full score for our experience and will certainly consider using this accommodation for our future needs.

Room Tip: Our room was to the rear and the sound of the fountain in the garden was relaxing. The road to the...

“Back again!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

Once again we visited Whitemoor House and again were delighted with the experience. Nothing is too much trouble for John and Stephanie; the rooms are very clean and comfortable; the varied menu for breakfast is more than you would ever want; including home-made jams, lemon curd and marmalade. During our stay we spoke to others who had stayed at Whitemoor before and seemed to share our appreciation of their efforts.

“Excellent Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

I would definitely recommend staying at the Whitemoore House B&B. John and Stephanie were so helpful and friendly - collecting me from the station and then dropping me off - even when I told them the wrong train times! The complementary tea and cake on arrival was very welcome. Breakfast was also delicious with lots of choice. Nothing bad to say.

“Superb B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

My fiance and I stayed at Whitemoor House in the first week of October 2011 and it was absolutely flawless.
Stephanie and John Drew have very rightly won the AA guide award for "Friendliest Landlady/landlord" - they couldnt be any more friendly, welcoming or helpful.
Their knowledge of the local area is nothing short of encyclopedic, and the recommended some excellent trips and restaurants to eat in.
The B&B is spotless, and the bedding is of top quality, very luxurious.
The breakfast sitting runs incredibly smoothly, there is a friendly atmosphere and we have a variety of breakfasts - all delicious and locally sourced.
We will definitely be staying here again and I would recommend it to anyone.

“Half term break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay at Whitemoor House over October half-term. The pot of tea on arrival was just what we needed. John and Stephanie could not have been more welcoming or helpful, guiding us as to places to visit, walks to do and restaurants to eat at. Their recommendations were spot on. Our room and bed were very clean and perfect and breakfast was delicious. The home-made approach and local produce used added to the warm, friendly feel of this excellent B and B. My husband was delighted to purchase some freshly made lemon curd on the morning of our departure- which had been finished especially for him. We would certainly recommend this B and B, which is only a short walk from the delights of Lyndhurst, to visitors to the New Forest.
