We used this very welcoming accommodation for an overnight stay on our way to join our cruise in Southampton. Having been greeted with a pot of tea and home made cake we were shown to our clean, comfortable room. The offer (accepted) of more tea on our return from the town after going for a meal was very pleasant and the Residents Lounge a good venue to take it whilst watching the television news.
If the weather is inclement, as it was for us, umbrellas are available at the entrance to Whitemoor House. Parking is a little tight, but if all those staying park properly it is adequate and secure enough to leave any baggage, not needed during the stay, in your vehicle.
Although the accommodation is strictly bed and breakfast the town is only a short walk away (parking is restricted and walking is recommended) where various types of food are available in the pubs, restaurants, and fast food outlets at reasonable prices.
On the subject of breakfast, it was of a good standard, freshly cooked with plenty of tea (or coffee if preferred) and toast available.
Only one small incident marred our stay and it was not totally the fault of our hosts. Late arriving tourists, who lacked English, were unable to read the room names on the doors and attempted to enter our room by mistake and as a result disturbed our sleep. Without this I would willingly have provided a full score for our experience and will certainly consider using this accommodation for our future needs.
