We are just back from our second stay at the wonderful Wych Green Cottage, and we are already trying to plan a date for our next stay. I simply cannot rate this wonderful place highly enough. We booked the stand-alone cottage opposite the B&B, which has everything you could possibly need and is so charming. We stayed with our 2 year old and Carol and David couldn't have made it easier with safety gates and highchairs without us having to even ask. Nothing is too much trouble for them and it's wonderful that they welcome children so warmly. Other than the great hospitality, what differentiates Wych Green from other places is the abundance of local farm animals. We saw countless animals walking freely down the lane adjacent to the cottage such as ponies, sheep, donkeys, pigs, cows and even a peacock! The breakfast provided in the main house was fabulous and beautifully presented with lots of fresh fruit, cereals and a big fry up. I can't help but worry that my review will make it harder for us to get a booking!
Make sure you go to the Royal Oak in Fritham whilst there for the best Ploughman's lunch, but you need to get there at opening time of 12pm in winter as the tables fill up immediately!
