“good quality for price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

stayed for 2 nights a couple of years ago for a family christening found hotel to be ok.stayed again this year for same reason.
the hotel is walking distance to the town centre, but the road you have to walk down has no street lights so coming back late is a bit un-nerving.the hotel itself could do with a bit of work, but it is ok.
rooms are small but the ones we stayed in were fine,shower/bath,tv twin beds.
the food in the bar was good, little bit pricey but quick and very hot.breakfast we could not fault plenty of everything, unlimited tea/coffee.
because we have family in the area we will go back, good quality budget hotel.

We assure you we have raised the street lighting with the highways department and will continue to pursue this issue in the hope they will accommodate our request.

Also, we are about to enter the last phase of our refurbishment programme regarding the soft furnishings etc which I hope will be completed when ever you visit us again.

Do not stay here. Old worn out and generlly shabby hotlet, which even at less than 100 pounds pernight is grossly over priced. Disinterested staff, old furniture, bedrooms smellingof mothballs, jsut dont even think about staying. Does a diservice to the word Quality

I am mystified as to why you did not register your concerns at the time of your stay. I now urge you to contact management to discuss the matter.

The hotel is in the last phase of refurbishment, the rooms and en-suites are almost complete. The soft furnishings have been ordered to fully enhance the newly decorated rooms.

The rooms rates are very reasonable compared to the area and offers a first class service.

“The not quite Quality Inn”

Rings bells of Faulty Towers. Although I had been told not to set my expectations high, I didn't and wasn't disappointed by them. It wasn't quite as bad as some of the reviews, and the decorators were there when I arrived, but obviously hadn't got as far as my room. The reception guy was scruffy but helpful although he did try and bill me for a pre-paid room. The corridors are narrow and did have to help out a guy who was struggling with the stairs and fire doors with his one suitcase. The room was large, clean but was tatty, particularly the en-suite. Sleep was awful, mainly thanks to the thin walls and the group coming back at 3am. Don't bother with the evening meal at all, it's the most I've ever paid for soup and sausage and smash......Breakfast was OK but I struggle to believe you can mes up an English breakfast. If I was paying then I wouldn't stay again. The only consolation was the following night at the companies accomodation was worse!!

“Faulty towers”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011 via mobile

Stayed here one night while visiting friends. the place smells damp! we had an attic room which was adequate but smelly and in desperate need of a refurb! Everything is dated or doesn‘t work.
as for the breakfast it was ok but the cooking of bacon, sausage etc very bizzare, only brought out half a dozen of each to the hot plate even though the dining room was full of guests eager to eat as check out is 11!
Our taxi driver informed us the hotel is known as faulty towers and it well deserves that ackolade it even has ‘basil‘ i joke not!

“QUALITY!!!!!!! it is NOT”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

Had to switch off the breaker for the lights to disable the bathroom extractor fan which drove me mad until 02:30 in the morning. Shower, had to run around to get wet, not very hot either. Bar prices very steep, 2 straws job. Gents toilet a bit like downtown Beirut. Breakfast lukewarm, scrambled egg, no other choice offered. £72 for a sleepless night, would of had a better night in the carpark.

Had you reported your concerns management would have addressed them.

The extractor fan should not have been 'disabled' but reported to management.

We offer a full English breakfast and to ensure the food is hot and well presented we replenish the servery at regular intervals. Had you asked the waitress for a different type of 'egg' we would have been more than happy to have brought this directly to your table.
