Nice clean family run hotel. A quiet part of Southend just near the Westcliff Seafront. The bar facilities were good and opened late! My room was very clean and the bathroom spacious and well kept. I was with a group of work colleagues on a training event and overall we all enjoyed our stay at the earlsmere hotel.

I loved this hotel, it has a homely feel to it. much better than the local travel lodge. clean & tidy, nice food and friendly staff. it was our anniversary and the hotel made that special effort with flowers and complimentary champagne!!

Stayed one night in October 2005 at this dreadful hotel. A group of us had booked to stay after a party that was catered there. Firstly - our credit cards were used fraudulently by 2 members of staff - one of the receptionists and a kitchen porter I believe - to the tune of £5000 or so. We got the polic involved and they've been caught and dismissed from the hotel, but STILL.
Secondly the hotel itself. Shabby, old, uncomfotable, stained bedsheet, broken shower, net curtain around the "four poster" bed. I am not making any of this up - please do not give this hotel your business.

This hotel has friendly staff and nice bar area. Breakfast was more than adequate. However, the bathrooms are the let down of this hotel. Ours was dirty, the extractor fan had so much dust on it, it was hardly recognisable, also the shower was mouldy and the actual fitment holding the shower, had most of the grout surrounding it gone, and looked pretty dangerous to me. The actual room was clean and bright. Plus there was the noise of an extractor running all night and we hardly slept.
