Read on review that somebody complained that their air-conditioning wasnt working during their stay. Well we stayed on those two floor building five mins walk from the hotel lobby. Judging from the star rating of the hotel, I would expect all rooms to be air-conditioned. We happen to stay during the third hottest week of May 2012! Even if we disregards the air-con (thinking get over it!!), one would think opening the windows would be next best idea. Unfortunately no! We couldnt even safely leave our window or balcony door open while we were sleeping on the ground floor at night?? There were hotel guests using the pathway near us all the time. Would you?? Not very well designed. Double disappointed!

A couple of weeks ago I stayed at the hotel with my partner and i can't wait to book another visit. The staff were all welcoming and polite and I couldn't fault them - the barman wanted a lot for a vodka and orange, but hey, he doesn't make up the prices!

We checked into our room and I was pleasantly surprised with the décor... (it will be better once the bathrooms get refurbished though, which i hear will be happening in the near future!!!) the bedroom had a flat screen, good size double bed, and a real duvet!! not just though sheets you find in most hotels!

we both enjoyed making full use of the spa facilities(be rude not to) and we even chilled out in Bar Lacu in the evening which was stylish and comfortable.

The food was nice.. but I did have high expectations by this point as the visit had pleasantly surprised us both so far.

I would recommend this hotel highly to all. Great stay, great hotel, run by great, smiley staff!!
I'm even considering on having my wedding here.. that's when he asks!

Stayed there for conference with a very large group of people

The rooms are good size, modern, hotel grounds are lovely, but had an unpleasant stay overall.

Firstly the duvet was so worm and the air conditioner din't work the first night so I almost didn't sleep. the alarm went off at 6.45am in the morning and again 10min later, thought we will get a heart attack. The next night the air-con was turned on after contacting the front desk and I used the blanket, so had a better sleep.
The food was disappointing... don't know what was the food in the restaurant like, but the buffet lunch and dinners were poor in choice and quality and dinner staff was unfriendly. Also weren't wasn't enough drinking water provided for the meeting rooms and the glasses were plastic and the bottles just checked on the floor still in packs...?!
If the food is improved I would come back to stay at this hotel.

Stayed with a colleague for one night after a terrible drive from Durham and a crash on the A14. We had a meeting in nearby Southminster the following morning so after 6.5 hours in the car the friendly staff, comfy bed a fab pool and spa facilities was a welcome treat.

I was dissapointed with the limited food choice and gosh !!!! the price of the wine but overall we had a great but brief stay. The room was excellent. two huge double beds just for me!!! Excellent service, helpful staff and a great night sleep in a scrummy crisp clean bed and a flat screen tv. I was in heaven after my swim and i guess was saved from a bad head the next day due to the price of the wine.

Breakfast was lovely but hey guys, give us Northen girls a pot of tea !!! having to rely on a waiter to top up our little cups was a bit mean and it had floaters in. Not a good cuppa so the verdict on drinks POOR. Accomodation, spa, pool and staff just fab. We would come back if you sort out the teapot situation and have a re-think on the wine, £23.00 for a house white was steep in my opinion.
