“Beautiful but expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

This is a lovely hotel with excellent facilities and very high standards of cleanliness. The quality of the restaurant was good but not the best. I thought that this was an expensive hotel in all and felt that it was better suited to the older generation rather than young couples and families. The staff were friendly. I had the worst night's sleep in this hotel, the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. I don't have any real complaints other than this, I just felt that all things considered it was overpriced as I have experienced better beds, staff, and better food in other hotels that have been cheaper. The location is beautiful and feel that this hotel might be better visited in the summer for afternoon tea rather than a night's stay.

Room Tip: I would make sure that I tried the bed out upon entry into the room and if not satisfactory ask to b...

“Lovely stay for my partners 30th birthday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I booked the hotel for two nights for my partners 30th birthday, it was a complete surprise for her. The hotel was excellent, with all the staff extremely helpful, you really are made to feel that you are the only people in the hotel. Room was lovely overlooking the park. We booked a dinner for the first night and the meal was outstanding, couldn't fault it and we really love our food!

Lovely grounds with deer wandering around, the snow just added to it all.

Special thanks to to reception for organising the flowers!

Look forward to going back in the summer.

“Thank you so much!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

A few days in the countryside convalescing was just what we needed following Terry’s new hip and my new knees. Where better to heal than in the magical heart of Ashdown Forest, in one of the most beautiful hotels in England. The staff could not have been more helpful. Ben (General Manager) arranged for us to have an easy access parking space, he upgraded us to a suite so that we could move around more easily on crutches. Aiden (Concierge) fetched and carried our luggage, arranged a continuous supply of ice for rehab equipment, nothing was too much trouble! Alex (Head Waiter) looked after us in the restaurant and served us the most amazing gastronomic food imaginable to rival any Michelin Star restaurant. The management and staff at Ashdown Park are without doubt the most professional, capable and welcoming people, who by paying attention to the ‘little things’ make the whole experience one to cherish.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main house overlooking the lake offer beautiful views

“Thank you Ashdown Park Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We had a very nice one night stay at Ashdown Park We have stayed many times over the last 15years but haven't been for a few years as our last few visits didn't live up to previous ones.It was my husbands birthday - everything was 1st class - a great suite, lovely afternoon tea and a VERY nice meal in the restaurant. All the staff seem interested in what they are doing and are well motivated. We used the gym which was nice and the pool seems to have had a make over.

Room Tip: We had The Maple suite which looks out over the forest and has a balcony with seating.

Beautiful hotel, excellent service, lovely location.
Great range of dining options - casual bistro in the spa, smart dining in the restautant as well as 4 big lounges with open fires which serve everything from afternoon tea, to bar meals and cocktails. Hotel is set in large grounds which are ideal for a leisurely stroll and the hotel is in the middle of ashdown forest with options for walking, running, cycling or visiting country pubs.

Room Tip: Park view rooms overlook the front of the hotel which has a great view across the lawn down to the l...
