My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at the Ashdown Park Hotel. It was simply magic. The staff were extremely helpful - they could not do more. They organised a private dining room, special meal and the chef prepared a cake.

We had a suite - that ensured all 5 of us (3 young children in a their bedroom and us adults enjoying a lovely, spacious main room - heaven).

We spent lots of time in the pool and enjoyed counting the deer wandering past the hotel.

A perfect place in a perfect place.

I read some of the reviews on TA before we set off for our afternoon tea and overnight stay for my 40th (15th Nov 11) and felt unsure as to how the experience would turn out as there were a couple of bad reviews about Ashdown Park Hotel. All I can say is do not be put off as our stay really exceeded our expectations and we will most certainly be returning. Our room had a slight radiator issue which we informed the staff about. They got someone to look at it straight away and decided that it couldn't be fixed until the next day. They promptly upgraded us to a beautiful room which made my birthday even more special. The champagne we had with our cream tea was very good quality. The food we ate at dinner was excellent. The service in the restaurant was Exceptional. We were served by a very professional young man who's name I forgot to ask. All of the staff we met were lovely and the hotel itself was absolutely beautiful.
I highly recommend this hotel. I'm always a bit sceptical about whether reviews are written by real visitors, so just to assure you I am a real visitor. I have never written a review before, but felt so strongly that I didn't want anyone to be off and miss out on experiencing the hotel ,that I decided to write one. We had a superior double room overlooking the parkland. The bed was large and comfortable and the room nicely appointed. Tea and coffee were regularly replenished. The bed was turned down each evening when we were dining with any dirty cups washed up .
Breakfast was excellent - a sumptious buffet of hot and cold food with the option of freshly cooked if you wanted.
The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful
The one minor problem of lack of good reading light in the room was very quickly resolved.

My boyfriend booked the hotel as a surprise weekend away. It was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were all really polite, attentive and friendly, especially Marc, the Bar Manager, he really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Our room was lovely and really clean and spacious, and the hotel and grounds and leisure facilities were amazing. There truly isn't one thing we would have changed and are already planning our next visit...
