“Friendlist place on earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We found the SeaSpray in St Leonards-on Sea an extremely good place, the owners Jo and dale are the friendlist people on earth, we go there every time we are in Hastings, they can't do enough to make the guest feel like they are at home. Nothing is to much for them, the breakfast is very filling and cooked to order from fresh, they cook what you want for your breakfast, they always seem happy. you get a very comfortable large bed all in all excellent

Room Tip: The rooms are always clean as is the rest of the place

“Nice to revisit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

This was our second time of staying here as before Jo and Dale were very welcoming.

We had booked online and as we wanted a sea view we paid extra for a family room ( was only sea view avaiable at the time)

The breakfast was as wonderful as we remembered, a large menu from which to choose from, cooked to order every morning, cereal, fruit and juice available as you walk in to the breakfast room, Dale and Jo very friendly and they are a bit of a double act with the banter.
Dale is very knowledgeable about Hastings and the surrounding area and is very happy to chat about everything..

The room was huge with a double bed and two single beds and a seating area by the window. Lots of storage space for clothes and our belongings.
The room had a fridge on top of which was a tray with a kettle, it was in a little nook which I assume to have previously been a fireplace, but when boiling the kettle had to move it as the steam filled the nook and dripped down. the tea, coffee and biscuits were restocked daily when our rooms were cleaned.
The only real down side for us was the plumbing, the toilet was very noisy when flushed and this was more obvious at night, my partner banned me from flushing till morning, instead we tipped water down lol.

Would come back again great place.

“I Keep on Returning...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

I discovered the Seaspray in 2001 and have returned at least twice a year every year since then, especially for the Hastings Bonfire Festival in October. I've pretty much stayed in most of the rooms, Single, Double, Family, Sea View, Non Sea View and they are all to a very high standard. Though my favourite are of course the sea view rooms looking out over the Prom and the battered Pier. A Fridge, Flat Screen TV with Freeview, DVD Player, the little things like a Hairdryer, Iron, Tea, Coffee, Biscuits, it's all there. And the en suite rooms have a very powerful shower. The beds are very big and very comfortable as well. And come the morning you'll have the breakfast of all cooked breakfasts. Pretty much every breakfast item is cattered for, including Fried Bread and much more besides. And the two people who make it all happen, Jo and Dale, the couple who run the place. Fantastic Hosts who think nothing is too much and who go out of their way to make you feel at home. The Sea Spray is between St Leonards Warrior Square and Hastings Stations with about a 15 minute walk from either one. Hastings Town Centre is about a 15 minute walk up the sea front.

“Exemplary!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

We have just returned from a most enjoyable three night stay at Seaspray. I booked online, which was very straightforward. Arriving in St. Leonards, The Seaspray was easy to find, and located within a few minutes walk of the town centre. Parking directly outside is restricted, but residents are able to park in a secure car park a minute or two away via a permit (which is included in the price). Our room was extremely comfortable and clean, with ensuite facilities and even a small fridge. Because of the buildings layout, some of the rooms are up several flights of stairs. When I first booked I was sent an email checking that we were ok with stairs (which we were) and Seaspray also offer a ground floor room if this may be a difficulty. I've stopped at many hotels and B&B's (although this is the first so noteworthy that I thought I would review it). The follow up email after my booking was so typical of the attention to detail, and the personal touches that made our stay so outstanding.
No review of the Seaspray would be complete without mentioning the breakfast menu, my partner is coeliac and was delighted at the wide range of gluten free options. I opted for the 'full english' and have rarely eaten better, 'home cooked' to order, locally sourced and satisfying the most hearty of appetites.
Dale and Jo (The proprietors) were very friendly and welcoming, and from over heard breakfast time conversation, seem to have a great deal of knowledge of the local area and places of interest.
We will certainly book again, and would not hesitate to recommend The Seaspray to anyone visiting the area.

Excellent - location, comfort, cleanliness, views, friendliness, helpful hosts, free WiFi, many options for breakfast (thanks Jo and Dale for the fruit platters in particular when 'full English' was a bit much to manage!) ... will definitely recommend to anyone coming to Hastings!

Room Tip: Rooms facing south to the sea have good views (spoilt only by the sight of the damaged pier - hope t...
