Stayed 3 nights for a wedding in Finchingfield. Didn't spend much time in the hotel, but noted the room was excellent, very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bar was open 24 hours for residents. Breakfast was good, only buffet but good bread and stuff, although I missed the sausages I had experienced in the Days Inn Luton! As is the way in UK these days (I am a grumpy old man!) you need post codes to take a taxi anywhere..we had a couple of comical taxi rides to Great Leighs and Finchingfield. As there is no restaurant, those in a hurry (as we were) walk 2 minutes to the Haver Arms, which is a Harvester pub, and so close as to appear attached at first. Friendly pub, good food, but beware wine out the barrel..it's all foul! If you can find Great Leighs, there is the oldest Inn in England, called the St. Anne's Castle..excellent music venue, good beers and food, friendly bar staff and locals.
