The Ordnance is a good place for the contractor whos working away from home, run by nice people, good food,prices not to bad. Rooms are warm,with on suit,

Basic yes but clean.

I was there for 16 weeks. Oh and its about the only place where they pull a pint of Guinness properly.

Six of us booked in and stayed for 4wks. We found the staff all helpful and fun. I would recommend the hotel to all contractors as the rooms are functional but clean. The bar downstairs is very good with sky and a pool table, plus a games machine where we spent alot of money playing cluedo. Situated around the hotel are plenty of places to get breakfast and evening meals etc.
A big thanks to Elaine, Rach, Danni, Bekki, Tanya & Emma for a very fun and enjoyable stay!

We arrived a little after 12 o'clock and on being shown to our room, were shocked to find that the double bed hadn't been made at all, let
alone have clean linen on it. There was a dirty cup in our room too.
We went to reception where we couldn't find anyone to help us...on going into the pub/bar found the lady that showed us to our room, she
apologised and gave us the key to another room. We moved our stuff. This room was clean and tidy. I didn't find a hair dryer though..or the satellite channels on the telly. On getting back to our room after going out for the evening, we realised our room was directly above the bar, where there was Karaoke on, VERY loud, and VERY disturbing. It finished just after 1am, but when you're away for just
2 days, a good night's sleep is absolutely imperative. The bed needs a new mattress as it dips severely in the middle. I think I got 3 hours sleep if I was lucky (and broken sleep at that!). We went downstairs at 8.45, as breakfast was served between 8.30 and 10 on this particular day. At 9.30 we were still waiting..oh, the chef had just arrived and apologised but he'd "overslept". The milk for tea looked off, but apparently wasn't but "someone must have inadvertently put some cream in the milk" (quote from the chef). There were no cereals and no orange juice (the chef couldn't find it!). We had a cooked breakfast which was ok, but quite greasy. A VERY unprofessionally run, run down "hotel". I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Booked a family room (2 adults, 2 children) for two nights to find out on arrival that on inspection of the "family room" the sofa bed didnt work. We were offered a double bed and a single bed for two adults and two children. The room was painted in battle ship grey (which they must of bought a job lot from the docks) With a dark green carpet and furniture which is dated circa 1960, the rooms DO NOT HAVE SATELLITE T.V OR HAIR DRYERS AS PROMISED IN THE BROCHURE AND HAVE NOT BEEN NEWLY REDECORATED.

The rooms are situated above the pub and the music on a friday and saturday night is so loud and does not finish untill 1.00 am SO DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A QUIET NIGHT.
