Just returned from a two night break at Byfords. Discovered this a while back having popped in for lunch and quickly realised that I wanted to stay there in the future.
Wonderfully professional welcome on check in and were shown up to our room and offered complimentary tea and cake.
The room was beautiful with an olde worlde feel with all mod cons. The little touches made this special including fresh flowers and biscuits with a wide selection of teas and coffees.
Classic FM playing through the sound system, even linked to the bathroom, made this feel relaxing and homely. The bed was so comfortable. In the evening, a jar of crescent moon chocolate chip cookies awaited us, very thoughtful.
The evening meals are held by candle light in the rustic dining area which is transformed from cafe to romantic haunt for dinner. Mussels were beautful and fresh and the tapas style starters are well worth a try.
Breakfast was well set out in a bright atrium area. Only let down was the breakfast was a little overcooked and dry which could be easily remidied, but everything else made up for this with helpful service and a "no rush" policy.
The Deli is popular and offers some delicious treats which can be made into a pinic hamper for you.
We cannot wait to book a return stay and congratulate Byfords for making this place so homely and professional.
