“Nice island, bad hotel”

I didn't like this hotel at all. All the stuff is unfriendly. We had a room in the main building in the 5th floor. The only one good thing was that we had a wonderful view. That's it. The room is very old, there is a little TV and old old loud air-conditioner. The bathroom is old too and it is so damp that mosquitos live there! So you shouldn't forget close the door, otherwise they sting you at night. Housekeeping is horrible, dirty towels which were thrown on the floor, maids hang them up!
The choice of food seems to be various, but it isn't tasty. There are a lot of people in the canteen and you can stay half an hour in some queue to get pancakes, for example.. There are no juices, only disgusting gas drinks, bad beer and wine..
There is a bad enterance to the water and there are a lot of big stones on the deep, you can hit your legs!
There are 3 pools in the territory, but 2 of them with sea water. I didn't like it.
Music is on every time, so you can't just sitting in the evening and relax! Also it was difficult sometimes to fall asleep, because of the music outside till 12-1a.m.!
The territory of the hotel is green and big, the location is good too, it is close to the town but far from loud.
I will never advise this terrible hotel to someone!

“What a waste of money!!”

We stayed here a few weeks ago (end of September) on an all inclusive deal booked with Easy Jet, under the impression this was a 4* resort. That is definately not the case, upon arrival we were given room keys and nothing else no directions no one to help us get to our rooms, the resort itself is quite large and so was difficult to find our way around. We had requested either of the following when booking the hotel, either late check out, a double bed or sea view we werent given any of these. The room was very small and extremely warm. Air conditioning was to pay for daily which was not stated anywhere before we booked it.
With all of us being in our 20's we decided to just try and enjoy the holiday regardless of the state of the resort and our rooms. We visited the all inclusive bar only a couple of times because the smell coming from around the bar area was disgusting!! The cups were not clean and there was a very small range of drinks on offer! The worst all inclusive bar I have ever seen! This holiday was just getting worse and there was more dissapointment yet to come as we headed to the restaurant for lunch which was basically mass produced tripe! In their defence the soup was okay but once you have eaten that most days for your lunch and dinner it becomes less appetising, although there was salads and pasta it wasnt fresh and at more than one point was swarmed with flies.
We ended up eating out the majority of the time which totally defeats the object of going on an all inclusive holiday, I would definately not go again!!

Room shabby dirty and old. Food disgusting, drinks worse. Staff rude and arrogant. (Not Greek). 90% of the hotel guests were either Russian, Polish, or German and not very friendly.
Booked for two weeks, left after ONE.

Room Tip: Just dont go there.

“Great value for money”

We needed a relaxing holiday. We got moer than we expected. We booked this hotel with a last minute deal of Neckerman. Neckerman gave this hotel 3.5 stars which I think it's fair. We paid EUR 1,080 for two of us during 3-10 Sep. This price included Transavia flights, transfer to/from the hotel and 7 nights with all inclusive. On the same day we checked the price of Transavia flight to Crete on the same day was EUR 495 for each !! So we almost got the hotel for free. The first room we got, the toilet just kept flushing. When we told the reception, she changed the room for us right away. The room is simple and very clean. It is old but everything works. My room has a fresh paint. They tried to keep the room in good condition at their best ability. I can see from different bathroom tiles. We got the room in the main building, next to the Star beach. When we closed the doors we could not hear the music from Star beach. There was only one night (Monday night) that they had music until 11:30 pm. But we arrived the room just a few minutes before they stopped. We were in the room only in the night because we were busy enjoyed doing stuff outside. There were trees between us and Star beach. We could not see them and they could not see us.The pillows were really thin. The matras is hard. The foods were very good. There were mainly Crete local foods which we like very much. We are not someone who went to Greece and expected Chinese or Indian foods. There were fish, mixed seafood, lamb, beef, pork and chicken, potato and rice cooked in different way everday. There were pasta with meat saus everyday. There are 4-5 kinds of starndard deserts like chocolate mouse. castard, panna cotta, ice cream, etc everyday. At least 1 or 2 local Cretan deserts. There was the same Greece salad everyday. The feta cheese is really tasty. I went sight seeing one day and had to buy my own lunch. I paid about EUR 40 for two for a fragtion of the lunch I got from the hotel, The drinks were local brands as indicated in the brochure. I found nothing wrong with that. I like to try local things. They also provided Belgium beers. But I preferred local one. The bars were open till 11 pm. The cake served at 4 pm was not good. The hotel is direct in front of the sea. One of the best location of the whole village. The beach is in front of the hotel. In front of the hotel is a bit rocky but on the right side is a sand beach. If you have teen or yong children, they will love it as it 's next to the Star beach. There 2 big pools in front of the sea. We did not check the 3rd one because we found the two in front of the beach are great. There are shops, restuarants and bars in front of the hotels and all the way to the pier which is the downtown. Instead of walking from the front of the hotel, you may want to try to walk a long the beach to the pier. There are many cozy bars along the way. The staff were veyr polite. There are no waiters or waitress as all self service besdie the pool bar where ou have to pay if you want cocktails. The cocktails in the hotel is not so good. Yo better try the bars outside. I tried different bars everyday. We did not meet any rude German. There are many Russians. Not one of them were rude. Most of them were very good looking. They really made a lot of efforts to look good at dinner time. Not just this hotel but in the downtown too. You will found many signs in Russian Conclusion. This is a good hotel. We were happy with what we got. I think the bad reviews are not fair. I don't understand what did people who gave bad reviews expected from their money.

“Good resort in an excellent location. I would happily stay there again.”

My girlfriend and I stayed for a week at the resort in August 2011, with an all inclusive package deal. The resort was on the whole, excellent and and good value for money. It is located at the eastern end of town, adjacent to the star beach resort which offers slides, watersports, a beach, bars and plenty for kids too. The main clubbing street is the other end of town around 30 minutes walk.

The hotel rooms are pretty basic but ours did have a fridge, tv and air con. I recommend bringing/buying your own bedsheet as for a double bed, they just lay two singles. The cleaner wasn't very good.

The hotel facilities are great. Three really good swimming pools, a small beach literally next to it, 2 bars with beer, wine, raki and ouzo all on tap. The food is simple, plentiful and on the whole very tasty Greek dishes. The gym is actually a small weights room with no CV machines.

There is also a fair sized supermarket about 200m from the entrance where you can get hold of essentials.

In summary, it is really good resort, well priced in an excellent location with decent facilities. I would recommend it for couples and families.

Room Tip: When booking, I would specify what you don't want eg not a basement room, or one next to gym.
