“Expect 3* not 4*”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

This review will probably sound like I am moaning a lot, but i'm not really... We had a lovely holiday but I don't think I would go back to this resort. I was quite disappointed because when I booked the holiday the website described it as luxurious which it wasn't. It was very nice, but very normal and I would say more of a 3* than a 4*.
The rooms were very plain and were exactly the same as rooms at the Travelodge but the beds were harder - I actually like the Travelodge but not when I have booked a 'luxury' holiday!! They could do with some updating and the corridors could do with modernising as the ceilings were all cracked and when it rained a lot of water was coming through, buckets had to be placed under the leaks.
The food was very nice and although we stayed for 2 weeks we didn't get bored of it at all. The pools were nice, and very clean, there are 7 altogether, including the indoor one. I think if you are going in a big group or with children you will have a lovely time.
The staff at most of the bars were really nice, but the restaurant staff simply didn't speak to anyone and looked very miserable. And the barstaff at the Royal indoor bar (the Poseidon) were nice if you were German or if you were a single woman, but if you weren't then they hardly listened when you told them what drinks you wanted, and often gave you the wrong thing. They were very unwelcoming to us.
The animation team were brilliant, and the shows they did in the evening were fantastic and they all worked so hard.
We went for 2 weeks - from 29th Sept to 13th Oct and the weather wasn't great so it has put me off Greece in future, I think I will stick to the Canaries from now on. We had 6 days of brillliant weather, but the rest was cloudy and cold, and the last 3 days it rained constantly.
If you get chance please visit aqua world, which is a reptile rescue centre. It is brilliant and only cost 6 Euro's each and you can go back as many times as you want, we went twice and had a great time. Also the village at the back of the hotel is great with lots of bars and restaurants if you fancy a change from the hotel.
Finally... don't worry about people saying the hotel is up a big hill, it really isn't bad. If you walk to the bottom pool and onto the main road there, it takes 1 and a half minutes to get to the bottom of the hill (we timed it!) so it really isn't a big hill at all.
I hope I haven't put you off, I think I would have enjoyed it more if we had just gone for 1 week instead of 2, and if the weather had been better.

“Fabulous hotel - highly recommended”

We stayed at the Belvedere Imperial from 11th until 18th August and were highly impressed. A great holiday village - the choice of two 4* hotels, about 6 pools, no fighting for sunbeds, fabulous views, fabulous food, spot on cleanliness, nice guests.
Only problem with this holiday was the terrible weather - 3 days of sunshine out of 7 which was very disappointing.
We booked a sea view but one of the hotels on the complex (the one with sea views) was closed so we were upgraded to a fab family room instead which was great, no complaints there.
The hotel's on a hill so no good if you want to go out and about and aren't a great walker. About a 1/2 mile walk into the town.
Overall highly recommended to all and I'd certainly go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a family room - they're HUGE!!

“OK if it doesn't rain!”

This all-inclusive resort hotel was a good base for a relaxing holiday. The pools are good, with plenty of sun-beds and a convenient pool bar. The staff were without exception very welcoming and helpful. Rooms and public areas were kept clean and tidy. The restaurant food was plentiful, with good Greek specialities. The fish was good but the choice of meat dishes was limited. The wine was mediocre; only the white was drinkable. Our room was a long way from reception, requiring 90 steps down through open gardens or four separate lifts and level walks through the gardens. This was OK until we had two days of thunder storms and heavy rain. The design and construction of the hotel meant that there were leaks, with puddles in corridors and some rooms having to be blockaded with towels. If it had been fine weather for all the 14 days, we might have come away with a better impression.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a room in the main building, with a balcony rather than opening onto a public ter...

Hotel was lovely, me and my boyfriend hired a quad and went into all the hills and old towns. Was a great place to visit and explore. I do recommend this hotel as the place was clean, friendly and beautiful.
