This review will probably sound like I am moaning a lot, but i'm not really... We had a lovely holiday but I don't think I would go back to this resort. I was quite disappointed because when I booked the holiday the website described it as luxurious which it wasn't. It was very nice, but very normal and I would say more of a 3* than a 4*.
The rooms were very plain and were exactly the same as rooms at the Travelodge but the beds were harder - I actually like the Travelodge but not when I have booked a 'luxury' holiday!! They could do with some updating and the corridors could do with modernising as the ceilings were all cracked and when it rained a lot of water was coming through, buckets had to be placed under the leaks.
The food was very nice and although we stayed for 2 weeks we didn't get bored of it at all. The pools were nice, and very clean, there are 7 altogether, including the indoor one. I think if you are going in a big group or with children you will have a lovely time.
The staff at most of the bars were really nice, but the restaurant staff simply didn't speak to anyone and looked very miserable. And the barstaff at the Royal indoor bar (the Poseidon) were nice if you were German or if you were a single woman, but if you weren't then they hardly listened when you told them what drinks you wanted, and often gave you the wrong thing. They were very unwelcoming to us.
The animation team were brilliant, and the shows they did in the evening were fantastic and they all worked so hard.
We went for 2 weeks - from 29th Sept to 13th Oct and the weather wasn't great so it has put me off Greece in future, I think I will stick to the Canaries from now on. We had 6 days of brillliant weather, but the rest was cloudy and cold, and the last 3 days it rained constantly.
If you get chance please visit aqua world, which is a reptile rescue centre. It is brilliant and only cost 6 Euro's each and you can go back as many times as you want, we went twice and had a great time. Also the village at the back of the hotel is great with lots of bars and restaurants if you fancy a change from the hotel.
Finally... don't worry about people saying the hotel is up a big hill, it really isn't bad. If you walk to the bottom pool and onto the main road there, it takes 1 and a half minutes to get to the bottom of the hill (we timed it!) so it really isn't a big hill at all.
I hope I haven't put you off, I think I would have enjoyed it more if we had just gone for 1 week instead of 2, and if the weather had been better.
