The hotel is very well located and the concept of a typical cretan village is very interesting. However you can be, as we were, very far from the lobby or the restaurant. The greek government is more generous on the stars than French or British. This 5 stars hotel (local norms) is just worth 3 to 4 according to the French or British standards. The rooms are very common and not as clean as they should be for such a classification. The bathroom are very ordinary. Food is good and well cooked but it is true too say that there is not a great variety of meals.
However we spend a lovely week there and can recommand the hotel but don't expect to much.

Just returned from a week at this lovely hotel, staff very friendly couldnt do enough to help, food good, fab room with large balcony, overlooking the sea, very clean everywhere and in a good locacation away from town centre but easy to walk to if you wanted to, well done Creta Maris we will be back soon.

I decided to spend the extra on this hotel as from the website, it looked very impressive. Thankfully the Hotel lived up to it although the entire complex was not opened but that was fair enough as we were early and the hotel is huge!
Check in was easy and quick, the room was a good size, bathroom beautiful - excellent shower but my TV only had CNN, all other channels were foreign, I know I dont go on holiday to watch TV but my wife takes a LONG time to get ready! Unfortunately my view consisted solely of a huge tree which birds liked to sleep in and make noise all night but I think they reserve the sea view rooms for those who wish to pay a supplement.
Food is served in the main Dining Room with a choice of other on site Ala Carte options, which you can book 3 times on the all inclusive package. Food choice was plentiful and if you missed breakfast (over at 10am) you could get a snack at the pool bar or another smaller restaurant after that. The choice of drinks and quality also impressed me compared to similar classed hotels I have stayed in - in Turkey, the cocktails were gorgeous, very nice wine and beer also.
The pools are super, all kept very clean and loads of space and sunbeds available between them and the beach, which is right next to the hotel.
Location is excellent, only 10 minute walk to the main "strip" of bars, clubs and restaurants.
Evening entertainment was enjoyable anytime we went, the entertainment team are a super bunch, asked everybody to get involved but did not push you if you declined, which I really appreciated as certain hotels can make you feel pressured into joining in.
I would definately recommend this hotel to friends.

The hotel and room
The hotel needs a little bit of updating and reviving as it seems well used. Unfortunately, we had to move rooms twice as the rooms we were given were not acceptalbe (twin room, too small etc). One third room was acceptable but not to a excellent standard. The bed was confy, the pillows were not. The bathroom was spacious and always cleaned thoroughly.

The people
The people were very friendly and welcoming. The entertainment team during the day can seem to pester you a little but they are only trying to get you involved in the activities.
The beach and pools
The beahc and pools were always clean and tidy, and cold...which was excellent in the hot weather
