the building is beautiful, a really classic example of colonial Assamese architecture. the grounds are impressive, an oasis of greenery and flower-beds in a Shillong that's increasingly concretized. the let-down is the service and the management, which is lackadaisical in the extreme. and whatever you do, don't take the package including food. you'll regret it, the worst food we ate in Shillong by far.

Its been a month now since we came back from our trip to Shillong. and I must say that ,I'm glad We chose to stay at Rosaville Cottage in Shillong ! Now I had hardly found any reviews on this Cottage Hotel, just went by my gut feeling that it should be a nice place to stay and Voila ! my instincts did prove me right !
Ok, coming down to the necessary things one needs to know.
There was a 2 nights n 3 days offer available at Rosaville, we extended it to a 3 nights 4 days one.
The Standard Room we stayed in was very clean, the bathroom was especially extremely clean! ,
We paid Rs.6950/- for a standard room for double occupancy which included breakfast and 1 meal.
The service was very good, the staff was courteous, the food was nice, custom made , good for non-vegetarians ! loved the fish there !
The garden around is really nice, surrounded by tall pine trees,a nice lawn with lovely flowers all around..
The only bad experience was that on the last night, the room heater went wry , n it gets really really cold in the night , also the caretaker cum admin drove me nuts when he put a 10% service charge extra (when i had paid the entire stay charges before hand n was told wont have to pay anything extra !) n to top it , he goofed up the math calculation in the bill !
But if you love staying at Heritage hotels, at a convenient distance from the crowded city , this is the place to pick !
