Been to wayanad recently 15,16,17,18,19 Jan 2012 ,stayed at green mount. We choose the green mount over the ratings we found on tripadvisor, it dint fail us, I would recommend it to anyone who is going to wayanad, The owner is a gem , he wont disappoint you with anything, and definately make's sure your stay is as comfortable as it can be. He picked us up at 4 a.m from the bus stop and his son dropped us back to station in their family car on the day we checked-out. The breakfast served is great and he will stay there and make sure your well-fed , and he also arranged jeep for us for sight seeing. 1700 a day and you can go anywhere you want , the jeep driver is polite and wont complain about anything. Green mount its safe, clean and economical , And highly recommended for couples like us. The location is very close to all the restuarants and commercial areas. And for any help Mr. martin is there for sure.
However I would suggest an oven in the room , Im sure it would help people on a longer trip.

We visited Wayanad with family on the 31st Dec and 1st Jan 2012. We had such a pleasant stay at the Green Mount that we extended our stay by a day :) Based on the previous reviews, we selected this place and werent disappointed! Located at Kalpetta, this place is close by to all tourist spots which makes sight seeing very convenient.

What impressed us even more was the prompt and courteous response of Mr. Martin who even guided us to plan our trip. We were received well, rooms are huge, well maintained and clean. The atmosphere is serene and calm even thought its close by to Wayanad-Calicut highway! Martins were hospitable through out and we got to taste authentic Kerala 'appams' and 'idiappams' which was relishing! Thanks Mrs.Martin.

We definitely recommend this place to potential Wayanad trip planners. Good going and Keep it up Martins! Cheers!

We really want to thank Mr. Martin for his hospitality.We landed in Kalpetta on Christmas day morning without any booking anywhere. We contacted him and luckily he had a room vacant. Not only this, he immediately came to the bus stop to receive us and take us to the homestay. Although he told that initially we could stay only for a day, fortunately we got extension and were able to stay for all the 3 days we spent at Wayanad because the other party who had booked our rooms had cancelled their trip at the last moment.

For sightseeing too he guided us on the mode of transport, amounts, distances, etc.

Everything about the homestay is fine.Rooms are clean and spacious. There is parking pace for cars in front of the rooms. The rooms are exactly as in the photos posted by some other members. We are posting some other photos of us outside the room on the verandah..

Of the 3 days we stayed, we had breakfast only one day as on the other two days we left very early. The breakfast (Puttu with Kadalai) was too good.

The location is also ideal. A little away from the main road but walking distance from both the bus stands and conveniences. If you visit Wayanad, do not miss going to Walnut Cakes shop..

The best part of our stay was that Mr. Martin did not take a single rupee as advance, etc and we paid the entire amount when we checked out on the 3rd day. And he dropped us in his car at the bus stop. This kind of trust and hospitality is very rare these days...

I would definitely recommend this place to visitors..

we have total 14 travelers, our stay during our visit for Five Days was Really Good. Mr. Martin & whole his family was very Co.Operative including of Serving Food & Giving all necessary information of Wayanad, Rooms are very airy and spacious, they cleaned the same every day.
Even we are not from Southern side of India. Then also they all were tried their best to make food at our taste.

We strongly recommended to visit Mr. Martin's Home stay for comfortable stay.
