“Well kept, great value, great for business travel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

This hotel is very nice based on average. The room is like a little efficiency apartment with a frig, microwave, dishwasher, couch area. It was very clean. We were on leisure, but it appeared to be a great place if your were traveling on business as there is a nice large desk area with internet plug in. in the summer, the outdoor pool area looked nice. One drawback is that you have to park far away from the main entrance. This is a good security feature but in bad weather would be a pain. There is a carryout within walking distance and it is right across the street from a WalMart. We would definitely stay there again.

“An Older, but remodeled hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

This was our first stay in the TownePlace brand of Marriott hotels. Since we have an infant we require the full kitchen. We tried to get into a Residence Inn or Homewood Suites, but since it was the Fourth of July weekend, we decided to try this hotel, which was out of our way a bit. We had trouble finding the hotel since there was no sign out front on the main highway and the hotel was set back. It is behind the Applebees, which gives a 10% discount, by the way. We were not very pleased with this hotel. It appeared to be a remodeled old hotel. The office to check-in was at the end of the building in a small space. When we were given our room we went down a long hallway only to find the room with a musty smell, the windows open, and a dehumidifier. We knew we could not stay there so we went all the way back to the office to get another room. The attendant was quite understanding, and gave us another room way down that same hallway. The room had plenty of room, but many of the kitchen appliances were dated. The furniture seemed to be more modern and the bed was comfortable. The pool was outdoors. The overall feel of the property was of an old-fashioned resort style hotel, which we normally do not stay in. The breakfast was not much at all and basically had breakfast bars and packaged muffins. My wife tried the coffee and said she had to throw it away. There was no space to sit to eat. There is a Wal-Mart across the street in case you need to stock up on essentials.

“Worth the Stay - Great Price and Wonderful Staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2010

Having travelled from the West Coast, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We reserved a 3-day stay, ended up staying 4 days and could have stayed 2 more days but the hotel was booked so we moved to nearby Bluffton. A year ago, we stayed at a nearby hotel with the same amenities but at a much higher (no choice but a one bedroom unit). This year, we decided to try TownPlace and found it way cheaper altho its a studio unit. All we need is a clean bed. The staff members were gracious, very helpful, and very accomodating. Kudos to each and everyone we dealt with. The fitness room is OK but what we appreciate is the availability of several washers/dryers (and cheap too!). We agree with other reviewers about limited choice on the breakfast items - basically the same each day, i.e., no variety. We would suggest offering boiled eggs, variety of sliced bread/muffins with a nearby toaster with packets of butter/jams. And being summer, one would expect more than apples and bananas. We were bothered by the heavy thumping of the guest(s) upstairs and the closing of nearby doors that tells us the hotel has thin walls! We were glad coming back very tired to our room later each night that we could simply ignore these noises. However, overall we will stay again at this hotel on our next visit.

“If You Want To Actually Get Some Sleep, Stay Elsewhere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2010

Overall this place is pretty nice. The room was spacious and clean and the staff was friendly. The problems started with the bed. Either the mattress was very old and worn out or the sheets were the wrong size. I'm guessing the former. Within minutes of two (average size and weight) people sitting on the bed at the same time, we were both falling towards the middle and the fitted sheet and mattress pad had come off the mattress at the corners. Putting the sheet and pad back on was only a temporary fix because as soon as there was any movement on the bed, the corners came off again. This was the case whether sitting up or laying down. I've never seen this happen before. Before long we were laying half on the exposed mattress and half on the sheet. VERY uncomfortable. My wife ended up moving to the couch. While this was going on, we could hear the TV in the room next door and every time the guy coughed or talked. I never did find out if there was a heard of elephants in the room above us, but we could hear every footstep of whatever, or whoever, was up there. Back and forth, back and forth.......The point is the walls are VERY thin and you can hear everything going on in the rooms around you. The only saving grace was turning the fan on the AC so it ran all the time and this helped drown out the noise. Of course this led to issues with cold air blowing on you 100% of the time.......

They advertise a free continental breakfast. This was the sorriest free continental breakfast I have ever seen. And I've had just about every one from every hotel chain. The food choices included bananas, Nutri Grain bars, cereal (no bowls and warm milk), store bought packaged muffins, and warm orange juice. There was no place to eat in the lobby so you had to schlep your food back to your room. What a pain.

When we informed the desk staff of our issues in the room, the manager was very apologetic and nice, but did not offer anything to compensate for our bad experience. Just a hand full of "I'm sorry's". I guess she missed the Customer Service 101 class.

I've been in worse places (and much better places) but the next time I'm in Findlay, I will not be staying at this place again.
