My husband and I have stayed at this hotel on five different occasions. Each time, this hotel has offered a wonderful and relaxing stay. Important points to mention:

~The staff is welcoming, friendly, and accommodating
~The rooms are comfortable and clean (no reports of bed bugs)
~The food is outstanding

If you are traveling to the Akron area, this is the place to stay. There is a Hilton hotel next door, but that hotel is not near as nice as the DoubleTree property. We have stayed at both, and the DoubleTree is far superior (ironic considering the Hilton hotel is a level higher than DoubleTree).

If you are looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay in this area, this is the hotel for you!

This property is right next to the Hilton - same owner. They have both recently had what appears to be a major change in staff training. I wonder if there is a new manager. In any case it is a welcome improvement. The staff at the Doubletree were welcoming and ready to solve any issue. The rooms were nice. The food was nice. I've stayed at several places int he area - this doubletree and the Hilton next door are by far the best.

The Doubletree in Fairlawn is well located. The rooms are an excellent size, with very comfortable beds. CLEAN rooms and modern furnishings. Staff at all hours is friendly and helpful. There are a couple of things I should mention. First, there is (in the king/sofabed rooms) a mini-fridge. I don't think that was mentioned on the hotel website. Also, the sofabed in the king rooms is a twin bed-not a double. A child can comfortably sleep in the sofabed, but definitely not a teenager or older. This had no effect on my stay, but others might appreciate the info. I stay in hotels 2-4 weekends per month, and I will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

I agree with tempting travels 100%. I complained on a recent survey from Hilton and received the following from the the Front Desk manager.

"With the percentage of Hilton Honors members we have staying here, it does not benefit our property to reward an additional 1,000 points to every Hilton Honors guest every night of their stay."

I will stay here because I am required to for business but not a night more. I will go somewhere where my loyalty is appreciated and returned.
