“Pick another hotel in the area”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2010

This was a stop-over hotel stay for us, and I wished we picked somewhere else. It was pretty smelly, the rooms weren't comfortable (beds, bath, etc.), I didn't feel real safe here, the included breakfast was really disappointing in comparison to other Best Westerns, and it appeared that there was only one woman working the evening we came in (she was very friendly and helpful, but she was only one person). We paid the $90 rate to qualify us for the Best Western rewards program, but were offered a rate of $77. I just wish we picked somewhere else in the area to stay (there's a lot of hotels to choose from).

“Non Smoking section smelled like a bar room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2010

We stayed there and got a non smoking room which was on the second floor. The whole motel smells like cigarette smoke. The girl that checked us in was very friendly and helpful but that is where the good ended.

“Overpriced and rundown”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2010

This may be the best hotel/motel option in Elyria, but it's to be avoided if possible. The entry and lobby are downright off-putting; and the hotel is located in a rundown area with a vacant building across the street. The room furniture is cheap veneer, doors and frames are metal and rusting. The shower seemed new and had a massaging shower head, which was the only pleasant feature. At $80/night, I thought it was significantly overpriced.

“best hotel i've stayed at in elyria”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

this hotel was the cleanest inside and out at the time of my stay. i was on my way back home to michigan after spending a few days at niagara falls, new york. bed and pillows were of the best quality. and they smelled fresh. the only down side of this hotel is that it is hard to get to. once you get off the ohio turnpike, you get on to a divided local road and get off there and then you have to go through a maze to get to the hotel.
other than that everything was great. will stay here again when in area.

“OK for overnight stay, but that's it.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2010

Arrived after a long day of travel. I didn't deal with the front desk, so I can't comment about that. Was traveling with my 17 year old son and my father, so we did have two rooms. We had requested a room on the first floor, since there is no elevator and my dad has trouble with stairs. Of course, by the time we got there, all that was left were rooms on the second floor.

Found a long black hair by the coffee maker.....didn't attempt the breakfast, choosing to go to a local restaurant - Bill Evans - which was VERY good.

I don't think I will ever be back in Elyria, but I would choose another motel if I did.
