I stayed at this property for one night in January 2012 while in the area on business. I was sold a king suite at the local/state government rate of $94 for the night.
This Embassy Suites hotel is located just north of Columbus adjacent to I-270. Access from the freeway is very easy. The exterior of the property is clean, neat and well kept. Parking is adequate and all areas are well lit but given the hotel's footprint, vehicle turning radius at the lobby entrance is tight.
Check-in proved to be a challenge. I reserved three suites for our group and that seemed to cause concern/confusion for the desk clerk. This is not typical for this brand. An associate quickly arrived and graciously assisted the first clerk in finalizing the check-in process. This was not a huge problem but may be indicative of a staff training need.
The lobby/atrium area was spacious, clean, neat and attractive. Elevator service was consistently prompt and the cabs were noted to be extremely clean. This has been a noted problem at other Embassy Suite properties I have encountered during my travels.
The suite was found to be clean, comfortable, well stocked and typical for the brand. All electrical equipment was operational and internet service speeds were more than adequate. The sleeping room was quiet throughout my stay and climate control was easily adjusted.
The evening reception was well presented with plenty of seating available. Staff members were pleasant and seemed eager to meet my needs. This is appreciated after a busy day!
Breakfast was also well presented with friendly staff and again, more than adequate seating for our group. Food quality was above average for the brand.
Check-out was flawless. I was thanked for my business and was invited back. This was a nice touch that did not go unnoticed.
This is a well run property, and it shows. The minor challenge at check-in was far outweighed by the quality I found beyond the front desk.
Room Tip: A room near the elevators minimizes your walk and noise is simply not an issue.
