“Electrical Fire at this Hotel!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

We stayed at this hotel Columbus Day Weekend this year. The air conditioning/heating unit caught on fire at 4:15 in the morning. Had we not awoke and addressed it, it is likely the hotel would have had substantial damage. The management was completely insensitive to the event. There was no apology, communication or any other sort of follow up. I had to request that I not be charged - and they still charged me for the following night.

There are extension cords and wires everywhere - and it seems to be not up to code. The fire department was not called for at least 30 minutes. I will not stay at this hotel again - if you do - it is at your own risk!

“Great experience - maybe it's new management??”

We bailed out of the Best Western across the street to stay here. Since we were jumping hotels, we needed early check in. The front desk staff was very cordial and helpful. I would say the staff made the difference at this hotel. After the bad experience at the BW, we wanted to see a room at this hotel before checking in. The staff was very accommodating and took us to a room for a glance around. After that they got us into the first made-up room they had. Quite a different experience from earlier reviewers who had problems with the manager and front desk. Everyone from the desk manager to housekeeping asked how we were enjoying our stay.
The breakfast is about what you expect. Bagels, muffins, make-your-own-waffle, hardboiled eggs, yogurt. To quote an earlier review, It'll get you through the morning. But the breakfast room staffer was attentive and kept the food/coffee stocked and area clean. There are smoking rooms at this hotel, but they are on the top floor in the corner. No odor or hint of cigarette smoke in any of the hallways or our room.
The indoor pool is nice and probably good in winter months. Right now they do not have any exercise equipment or workout room. They tell me they are adding one soon though. If my daughter chooses to attend OWU, this is where we will stay on parents' visits.

Checked in and reported I would have a pet staying in the room sometime during the 48 hour stay. Next morning, the manager knocked on my room (Do Not Disturb Posted) and wanted to know if I had a pet in the room.. I said yes and told her I had reported it at check in (I transport Pets and had discussed this with the check in clerk) She said she had checked the paperwork and I had not payed the $30 (Average around the country is closer to $5 to $10) (which she dispited to my face) pet fee. I told her I did not review the bill, that if it was not on there it was her clerks mistake. In addition we informed her that we had made several trips through the lobby both last evening in front of the same clerk, as well as another one later in the evening as well as today. If we had been attempting to hide the dog we would obviously not been so blatant. She was quite obnoxious and rude and accusatory, basically saying I was lying. The front desk clerk also said I did not tell her,(according to the manager) forgetting the entire "conversation" we had. As well as the fact the dog was walked in front of her twice, and a carrier brought in for it to sleep in, again in front of her.

The one positive note....the house cleaning staff is really wonderful, friendly, outgoing and helpful in all things.

Breakfast not bad.

Highly overpriced... stay at a Motel 6 or closer to the interstate..

“Great Deal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2010

This would be a great place to stay if trekking across the country or visiting kids at the nearby university. We were really impressed with the cleanliness and quality of the hotel especially considering the affordable price. The continental breakfast was slightly better than average compared to similar-tier hotels. There was also a pool, which we didn't use, but would be great for families with kids. Our room featured a sink outside the bathroom area, which is great when multiple people are trying to get ready. The front desk staff was friendly and eager to help visitors. Bob Evans and some other restaurants are within walking distance, as is a strip mall. Area appeared quite safe. Free WiFi access, no passcode required.

“Nice place to for a night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2010

No room at the INN (daughters house). We normally stay at my daughters but my other daughter and family (husband and three kids) was staying with her this weekend. So we decided to stay at the Comfort Inn. In general the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. When we travel we like to stay at locations that do not have to may negative reviews. I did review this site and others to decide where to stay. Price is another factor when you are retired. This location does need some refreshing on it’s inside looks. The rooms were OK but the public area need some help. The price we paid was a little higher then some better hotels we have stayed in this pass year. But sometimes you have to pay a little more for being close to your objective (daughter ½ mile down the road). This hotel is not in a resort area but in a collage town. And it fit the bill for our needs.
