We bailed out of the Best Western across the street to stay here. Since we were jumping hotels, we needed early check in. The front desk staff was very cordial and helpful. I would say the staff made the difference at this hotel. After the bad experience at the BW, we wanted to see a room at this hotel before checking in. The staff was very accommodating and took us to a room for a glance around. After that they got us into the first made-up room they had. Quite a different experience from earlier reviewers who had problems with the manager and front desk. Everyone from the desk manager to housekeeping asked how we were enjoying our stay.
The breakfast is about what you expect. Bagels, muffins, make-your-own-waffle, hardboiled eggs, yogurt. To quote an earlier review, It'll get you through the morning. But the breakfast room staffer was attentive and kept the food/coffee stocked and area clean. There are smoking rooms at this hotel, but they are on the top floor in the corner. No odor or hint of cigarette smoke in any of the hallways or our room.
The indoor pool is nice and probably good in winter months. Right now they do not have any exercise equipment or workout room. They tell me they are adding one soon though. If my daughter chooses to attend OWU, this is where we will stay on parents' visits.
