My son and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend, as we had tickets to the OSU-Akron football game. The hotel is a bit dated; a local cousin believes it was a Sheraton or a Hilton back in its "glory days". All-in-all, not bad for the money - the room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast buffet was tasty and well-stocked, and the staff was friendly. The hotel offers shuttle service to/from the OSU campus and other destinations within a 5-mile radius. However, it is not "scheduled service", so arrangements need to be made in advance for a return trip back to the hotel. We, along with other guests, took the shuttle to the campus on Saturday morning (drops off at Schottenstein Center). At the time, we were unaware of the return arrangements, so after the game we walked back to the hotel. The temperature was in the mid-90's, and it was a good 1.5 miles to the hotel, so we were pretty beat by the time we got back. The hotel is not a new, bright and fresh Hampton Inn, but once again, for the money....not a bad stay, and I would stay here again.

I was debating between this place and a nearby HIX. This hotel was $120 and the HIX was about $125 with a AAA discount. The reviews about the breakfast made me decide to come here, but given the general quality of the rest of the hotel and my room, I'm not really sure it was worth it. The room is roughly the quality I would expect from a $90 Best Western type hotel. The furniture is old and generic, the pillows are just adequate, the tv is an old tube style, the bathroom is old and claustrophobic due to short ceilings, and the wallpaper really is peeling in several places. Actually, all of the above would have been ok, except that I could not make my room dark. There is a huge light just outside my window (I'm in room 227) and even with the blinds fully drawn there is enough light seeping in at all sides that I can clearly see everything in the room. In the end, this room fails due to quality of sleep. Also, this place aggravated my allergies.

This hotel is OK, not outstanding. It is close to the Ohio State campus. It has a great breakfast buffet. The rooms are fine, but could use a little renovation. There is nothing wrong with this place, but there is little to get excited about.

We were there for a softball tournament and enjoyed the hotel. The rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. All the facilities were good and the hot breakfast was excellent with a great assortment.
