I stopped in Columbus to visit a friend on January 16, 2012. I wanted a place near the airport, seeing as I had a flight out of CMH early the next morning.
After checking tripAdvisor and other reviews I made my reservation on line. I had a pretty good idea what I would find. I paid about $70.00 for the room including taxes which are not reflected in the advertized price. Anywhere.
I got in there around 5:00pm. Everything was ready for me. The room they gave me was a poolside room, just a plain non smoking with 2 beds on the first floor, not too far from the lobby. I had a bit of a problem figuring out how to get the heater to work. Still, I have to say that it was all OK considering the price. The free hot breakfast was actually better than average.
At one time, this must have been a full service hotel. It is now quite aged. There is a dining area, a bar -lounge that had one customer when I walked by, an outdoor pool like I mentioned (closed). It is a fairly good sized facility, and out of place in this neighborhood. I would not have parked my personal vehicle around here if had had any other choice and I was concerned all night about this. As mentioned before by others, the environment is aweful. But the room and the facilities seemed clean enough, not perfect, and basically quiet. It's just old and run down.
This is the cheapest place to stay around the airport, so I would only conditionally recommend it for this reason.
